I always find myself feeling bad for Niki and Jessica is just plain bad ass, and I always enjoy some butt-kicking action.

So what do you think the deal is with their powers?

From the latest clip with Niki in the jail cell talking to Micah and DL, I think that Niki has the super strength, and Jessica is the one who channels people and takes their powers and uses them (or I'm not sure if you could call her a shape shifter...) because it looked like Niki when she broke that cops' club in half. The reason for the shocked look on her face was her realization to how strong she was.

maybe jessica can channel dead people and she can get thier powers if they were a hero cause who knows how many dead heroes there are.

I always thought that it was Jessica who had the super strength but after watching the clip I think that you may be right. Either that or Jessica took over for a few seconds broke the club and then Niki gained control again

I read in a Tim Kring interview that Niki was going to display an ability that we haven't seen yet, and that will be tonight.

Maybe he's making it sound more complicated than it actually is. Maybe that just means that this is the first time we'll see Niki use her superstrength...? But if it is something completely different, I can't wait to see what it is! Whatever it is, I hope it's nothing Storm-like in X-Men, because Storm just sucks...

storm doesnt suck but tim also said he tries to keep powers in a more realistic sense. not just controlling every bit of nature. anywho my personal oppinion is that niki hasnt revealed her super power yet. super strength is probably jessicas power but im sure nikis power will be a little more complex.

Nikki is one of my fav characters as well I like her since the beggining but I think the writers still owe her. Her character needs a more interesting plot and she still needs to fit with the rest of the Heores imo. But I guess that in the rest of this season she's gonna be a lot more interesting. I hope so, because Nikki/Jessica's plot have so much potential

You're right that up to this point, Jessica was the one displaying super strength. But as the guard went to swing at Niki, she grabbed the club and snapped it in two like it was a twig. The shocked expression on her face leads me to believe that it was Niki, plus the fact that she didn't fight off the other guards when they came after her.

Thank you...some people keep saying it's "fusion" and that Jessica's strength is becoming a part of Niki, but they were sisters (assumably identical with all the mirror references) and if Jess has a power, Niki has to have a power too! The only reason Niki wasn't displaying her strength was because her fear overwhelmed her and that's when Jessica tapped into Niki and used her power to kick some ass, since she was always Niki's guardian. This time, Niki was just plain frustrated that she couldn't hug Micah so she just snapped the thing in half. This makes me believe that Jess has the channeling power, and can take on the powers of anyone's body she enters, but in this case she takes Niki's, because she's the only one Jess cares about (or she's just having fun messing with people ). If she was really sinister, she would probably try to snatch other people's powers too. She probably had the power when she was alive too, because if Niki didn't remember anything from that time, Jess either went into Niki's body when she was in trouble and being abused and ended up dying for her and turning into the spirit she is now, or Jess simply was the one there physically and took the hits for Niki.

It was definitely more of a "holy shit, I didn't know I could do that" kind of face, not the usual "wtf? I didn't do that!" face when she snapped the stick.

This makes sense, I would tend to agree with that. If it were Jessica, I think she would have mopped the floor with the guards....I think I need to re-watch the episode though, at the end when the guard with the broken nose was telling her to take it easy and stuff, I never saw them get beat down by her. Unless that scene was deleted.

I think we were just expected to assume that Jessica had done that to the guards. They didn't show any of the guards getting beat up.

as for the performance its a testament to ali larter that we are able to tell when its Nikki or Jessica who is on screen at any one time that is one hard piece of acting and she has done it with aplomb since episode one but the performance in "GODSEND" was just another level of brilliance.

the sad thing is i see ppl on these and other boards saying crap like i am bored with the Nikki storyline and wish they would kill her off blah blah blah


well ffs these people should turn off the tv if they have the mental capasity to do so and delete them selves from the gene pool so that the moron gene is bred out of the human species bit by bit.

They're just opinions. I, too, was rather bored of Nikki's previous arc. Compared to the others, it wasn't on par. Things certainly picked up last episode and I am intrigued to see what happens next, but right now, the other storylines are holding my interest more. I think it'll get better though, especially when they start tying into the bomb plot. Ali Larter can certainly act, no doubt. But great acting doesn't always save a relatively weaker storyline.

Yes, I think you are correct. We were just all suppose to "know" that it was Jessica that beat up the guards.

I also agree that Niki was surprised at her own strength when she broke the stick.

What we may be seeing now is that Niki is beginning to develope her own power...super strength...but unlike Jessica who just kicked butt without any concern for any consequences like hurting Micah accidently, Niki will learn over time to use her power wisely and will become one of our "good" super heroes. As she does this, I think that Jessica will no longer need to be her defender and she will leave volunteerly or Niki will make her leave. Or we may see a battle of the two wills for some time to come.

I think it was Niki who broke the baton. I think she was just so irritated and angry that she couldn't hug Micah that her emotions got the best of her and took over. She's always had the strength, it just took the right moment for her to access it.

Yes exactly, and another reason that it couldn't have been Jessica is because I don't think that she would take control just to break the baton and let Niki have control again, it was all Niki

I would say that Jessica Came out for a Moment to Protect her and then Left like the same incident with...

1. (1,2,6) the talk with the Principal.
2. (1,2,19) When she got Slapped by the Weasel.
3. (4,5,4) Son was threathen.
4. (6,4,2) Jessica gave Micah the Backpack.
5. (10,4,5) Jessica told Hal where She had to take all hits.

The girl grabbing and breaking the baton was indeed Niki the nbc commentries said so and NBC does not lie.

I was waiting for someone to point this out I'm thinking it's a misdirection from TPTB making us confused about it. Cause her face changed when she caught the rod, and had the same Jessica face when she broke the Rod, and then reverted back to Niki after that.

Well Niki was getting aggravated cause she couldn't hug her son, and it has been confirmed that it was Niki and not Jessica

I think it was Nikki, her reaction after she did it was suprise. She knows about Jessica, and if Jessica took over and broke it, then why would Nikki be suprised? Also I think it's just farfetched that Jessica would take over for half a second then leave.
As for grabbing the principal's tie, I think that was Nikki too. Jessica has a very distinct voice, and that wasn't it. That voice was just angry Nikki, not Jessica.

I completely agree, and like you said Jessica wouldn't just take over for that short of a period of time, it just goes against her character

I doubt your sources since there's no reference. Without SPOILING it. I have to stick on my guns till the great reveal. We can only speculate up to this point.As far as we've seen, the question would be If Controlling Niki's body could be a Few seconds? I say it can.

In the commentary for the episode they say that it was in fact Niki and not Jessica

I was always wondering about the principal thing myself. It definitely did seem like Niki, but after being rejected a second time by the principal, she seemed upset and disappointed and wanted to run away. I mean I guess there was nothing else she could do, but her mood changed rather quickly. I'm honestly not sure if that was Niki or Jess, because after that Niki scolded her to leave her alone.

But I'm still on the Niki breaking the baton band wagon. I'm sure Jessica could appear for as short of a time as she'd like, but in Jessica's nature, she sure wouldn't just stick around for a couple seconds, it's not nearly enough time for her to wreck havoc.

For me it clearly looked like Niki and she looked shocked that she had the strength to break it. And if they confirmed it on the commentary, then surely both Niki and Jessica have the super strength?
