I figure since Peter's mind or whatever was sent into Jesse's body, that now Peter must have absorbed the powers of the other level 5-ers who escaped during Elle's outburst.
Why didn't Peter react like crazy when they got near him like with exploding man? Does he or does he not have the ability to absorb when he is in Jesse's body?
I think this episode was the best episode I've seen of Heroes yet. Bravo to the writers for setting this season up... now we have Peter undercover against these villains, Claire completely traumatized and cynical and somehow EVEN MORE SPECIAL, Mohinder playing God (but I didn't like how his personality completely changed overnight), a new FUTURE PAINTER, and Nathan all spiritual now. Great stuff.

I don't think P-Peter can use his powers while being inside of Jessy, because otherwise he could have just teleported out of the chamber of level 5. So he probably can't absorb any powers because thats his actual power...

Or at least his Peter-powers

I'm guessing he can use Jesse's though.

if he cant use his powers at all in level 5, then it means he cant absorb any powers when he's in level 5 anyway

I don't think the designation of being level 5 is based on powers. I mean, we already have 1 pyrokinetic (Claire's bio-mom) and clearly one of the level 5-ers is also one, which leads me to believe they are in level 5 due to the way they use the powers. If Peter ends up going villain, then yeah he could be eventually designated as a level 5, but so far he has used his powers for good.

They all seemed to be able to use their powers in their cells to a limited ability (unable to escape). But I was asking if Peter could absorb upon escape. It seems not to be the case, but then that would mean for sure that the writers have decided that the mind and the body are not one... philosophical distinction, but an important one for the show.

It's true there's already one pyro, but if you notice, the pyro from Level 5 has a blue flame, and if I remember from chemistry, the blue flame is the hottest.
So this would basically be the comparison of Flint (new pyro) to Meredith and Maury Parkman to Matt. (see the comparison?)

I get it but I'm thinking now that they are there because of their evilness. I mean Knox is already in a cell. If they don't think a cell can hold him how can they possibly think that a straight jacket will be able to. Unless (like Echo's gag) the jacket negates his ability somehow.
As for Peter's abilities he apparently can't absorb the abilities of the villains around him but what about the ability of Jesse, when he finally gets free will he have his ability?

If Future Peter was near Past Peter, wouldnt all Future Peters powers be ubsorbed by Past Peter in the bathroom they both ran into? this is before P_Peter was put into Jesse's body, or Future Peter is concentrating on controlling the way he looks and his inability to use his powers.
So once P_Peter is in his own body he will have all the abilities as F_Peter, correct?

While I understand the comparison, the difference between Maury and Matt was just level of control over the power. Matt could do the same thing that Maury could all along, he had just not tried or known it was possible. I never paid much attention in Chem, like Hiro, so I can't comment on that idea.

I thought about this too, but i would really have to say no , because future Peter's power is " ability empathy" just like PRESENT Peter, so if he did absorb his futures self's true ability it would be an ability he already has.
