Hey All,
One of the shocking moments from last night's Heroes Season premiere was the reveal that Sylar killed Elle's father Bob.

Many were wondering why he was killed so quickly!? Well thanks to EW's Ausiello we find out that Stephen Tobolowsky who plays Bob actually broke his neck in a horse riding accident during the hiatus and actually seems to be written out of the show. While filming the scenes for the premiere Tobolowsky could only sit straight and had to remove his neck brace to film a few quick scenes.

it was a shock to find out Bob had died but even more of a shock to find out that Stephen had broken his neck! i hope he recovers soon
Auxii
Sucks for him.
But hope he recovers well.
His character on the otherhand - was creepy and I didn't like him.
Raekon
Sad to see the character go so fast but more sad to hear about his accident. sad.gif
I hope everything goes well and that he will recover soon.
Vincitrice
I didnīt know this, poor Stephen. I really hope he gets better!
It was probably really hard filming those scenes for him.
Archis
Yeah, for a moment I thought Sylar was on the seat waiting for Elle...
But I'm glad he's gone...not that I hate the actor...He only gives me flashbacks form S2...
Skalli
I did think his voice actually sounded really wierd when i heard it and was suprised to see him in only 1 scene and not involved in 1 with sylar. Shame i really liked him like HRG you could not tell were he stood good or bad or in between.
`Adam
I liked Bob. smile.gif

After watching the episodes again it's scary to see the lack on movement in Bob when he's talking to Elle. mellow.gif
kurtsky
I liked his creepy character
Cylar
They shouldn't have killed him off, they should've came up with some excuse to write him out of the show temporarily, and bring him back later... So I take it Sylar has Alchemy now?

Did you not see when Sylar turned his gun to gold?
kurtsky
I liked this guy in a sense his power is so cool and the way he talks is creepy too.
Makes hima good part of the company. They should bring him back soon when his well.
Like make him use claires blood or something

Lol i'm not sure you'd be able to use blood after being dead for that long.

As much as I liked Bob, I hope he doesn't get resurrected. Resurrections and healing 24/7 are making this show annoying.

Haha i suppose. But it could be done. Unless someone freezes him and puts him
in a cell or something until he could get the "magic blood" but i doubt it.
Kinda weird if u think of it. laugh.gif

i hope he gets better smile.gif

really. I just thought it was supposed to happen. Also I didn't get the point of havng the power of gold. How did Sylar even know Bob had a power too.

And I have no idea why Sylar would need an advantage like that. Sylar doesn't need money and so far hasn't shown a need for it.

So why does he need the power to turn things gold is what has me boggled. Maybe it just a way to make Elle angry for now.

Edit: Just thought of tihs maybe Sylar has the power now to turn human beings into gold. He could turn his enemies into gold to keep them out of the way later on. That could be his advantage there.

kurtsky
Nice point. But why would someone want to turn people to gold instead of just killing them
Maybe he could be an ally for the speedster

he just wants as many abilities as he can get. to be special
Eiyu
Ouch, I hope his neck gets better soon.
But really, if I hadn't read this, I never would have thought there was this kind of purpose to his death. It just fits so well the flow of the story!
Well, I'm not sad about Bob being dead or something. I didn't like him from the start.
I just hope the actor is all right.

I agree with you on that. He doesn't need a special reason to kill as long as his victim has a power.
But I hope Sylar will use his new ability from time to time. I find it kinda cool.
icedcookie
thats rly sad i hope the actor gets well soon.
didnt rly like his creepy character though.
but finally know whats this power
Abolyss
The thing with Sylar is that he doesn't believe people deserve their powers.
I think he said that somewhere in the previous 2 seasons.

And how he knows they have powers is because of his original power.
When Chandra (I think) first met him he told him his watch was broken without even knowing
and then he met someone with powers and told them they were broken.

I can't remember who it was or what episode, but there's your answers.

Aerdna
sad.gif I wish Stephen a speedy recovery.

The abilities Sylar obtains aren't need based, as others have already explained, he takes any ability he can get to feel special, and as Abolyss said, he feels that most (up until Claire, I suppose) don't deserve their abilities because not all embrace them.

All of what you described is in episode 1x10 "Six Months Ago", and you are correct.

Ah I was wondering what episode that all happened in.

Btw horses need to be stopped. They have a grudge against super heroes. First Superman and now Bob.
First thing I thought when I read that.

Hopefully he recovers soon.

JPW
Oh yeah he did want to be special. I guess that's good enough.

I still loved it though. And I liked the way Sylar turned the gun gold. It kind of reminded me of that lovable N64 game Goldeneye. The Golden Gun in Multiplayer. Awww fun memories there.

Never be a good movie conversion like that again.

Anyway good moment.
Sad to hear about the actor. But they made a good move with the characters death and he was going to be killed off eventually anyway I felt.

Sorry to hear that... but yeah. It's better than what they do with other TV shows. when someone's hurt.
hellblazer
Thats horrible to break your neck.
kurtsky
I think even if i would like him back in the show, and if others would also. It would be hard to find a plot or something
for his character to come back. unless he uses someones magic blood
