So, anyone who has seen the Fly with Jeff Goldblum and Gena Davis must surely have noticed that the scene where Maya finds Mohinder in his lab hanging upside down is essentially the same scene as the one in the Fly. From the way she finds him, to the acrobatics, to the sex, to the getting-up-from-bed-and-looking-horrified-in-the-mirror part.

The question is, is this a tribute to that scene of the movie, or is it a rip off they hoped not a lot of people would notice. The way it is done (so obvious) makes me think it's a tribute, but i don't know... The writers have shown some signs of weakness in writing(there are plot holes, though i don't let them detract from how i enjoy the show) and i wouldn't put it past them to just blatantly rip it off.

The season started well, disregarding some weird stuff like Hiro going to the future and seeing himself (they need to decide what type of timeline they want... is it the branching type, or the whatever-you-do-things-will-end up-the-same type?) and the out of the blue thing in the end of ep2. These others don't bother me, but that scene did for some reason...

They did it with allot of movies or shows in heroes.
I think it's pretty cool, like a parody or something but in a good way!

Another similarity to The Fly is the circumstances in which both Brundle and Mohinder decide to experiment on themselves.

Yeah, it's pretty dead on
Heroes have a lot of movie references, I guess this one is just more exaggerated? xD

I'm sure that it wasnt intended to be a rip-off though.

LOL, just googled: "the fly heroes scene".

And of course it's a tribute, come on. Don't you think writers with such freedom and skills couldn't just make up any other way to introduce Mohi's new powers without risking to face accusations of stealing? Well....as I haven't watched the rest yet, it is also a nice way to show me what ist to expect of this precious new gift, if the analogy continues.

And Sendhil did a a very nice job in recreating the amazement and blind euphoria that Jeff Goldblum displayed in the remake, it was perfect for him. Yet, it appears a tiny bit unreal and out of sync with his usual behaviour, which is of course also the case in the movie, just a bit better in terms of credibility or character extrapolation.

Anyway, I love it. That's exactly the stuff great series for a semi-intelligent audience (people like me) should be made of.
