yes. sylar is mamma's spy inside the pinehearst.
I think that he saves peter not only for angela but also because peter come back to "rescue" him. first hint of brotherly love for the lonely Gabriel

Agree.
Angela is at least proven to Sylar, intentions or not (feeding him, keeping him in an unguarded cell). Arthur fakes his death to his own kids and removes abilities, and Sylar walked in on some weird experiment.

hmm. i disagree, just because i think peter and claire will go back to angela, so it kind of sets it up for company against company, angela and peter against arthur and sylar. sylar might have lost faith in angela after what arthur told him, suspects angela was just trying to get him on her side by feeding him, and now goes to arthur for a parent type figure

well it's almost like it's gonna take sylar and peter to defeat arthur
sylar obviously saved peter, for what reason we will not know until further episodes

I hope it takes both brothers to defeat Arthur. But at the same time, I don't know how they could have another supervillain in a further season if they off Arthur. Unless Ma becomes the evil force.

I personally think that Sylar is still on his mom's side. I mean, come on, is he going to get manipulated so easily? I thought we already got our lifetimes' worth of dumbness from Peter the last season?

For a man who "sees how things tick" he'd be a real dufus to fall for Aurthur's attempt to sway him. I think it's pretty clear, if not from saving Peter than from the actual way Gabriel works, that there is no way that he is falling for it.
This leads me to my theory about why Aurthur wasn't fooled.
Remember that Aurthur took Peter's abilities, and those included Gabriel's, so now both of them "see how things tick" and it will be very interesting to see which one pulls what over on the other in the end, because it's his root ability that gives Gabriel that "silver tongue" of his. He's an ace manipulator himself and I don't imagine easy to fool by the same means.
I am sure that he is trying to trick Aurthur, but has run into complications with Aurthur having the same ability, which will make Aurthur suspicious of his true intentions. In other words, Gabriel had the right idea, but now he's in hot water because Aurthur took Gabriel's ability from Peter.
That's what I think. ^.^

Yes, but unfortunately for sylar, there was no ticking sound

But then again, Arthur probably doesn't have that ability.
Peter had to learn it from future sylar, who's to say arthur just gets it out of thin air. I mean, Peter's had the ability for about three seasons now and didn't learn how to use it until now.

Spot on,... both Gabriel and Arthur are playing cat and mouse with each other. Gabriel is playing along, wanting to see things on a wider scope. C'mon the guy has spent the last few episodes mega bum licking his mums *ss, so he would be wise not to be swayed so easily like mentioned above.
So Gabriel must have used TK on him, like Peter said.

The way he said to Tracey, I'm going to kick the door in. Is this going to be like his visit to Linderman with a gun? What happened then again?
Also Arthur obviously knew what Gabriel had done. The way hes wielding these abilities has to mean he has IA.

Sylar got bridget's power right? Can't he see the past of things? Wasn't that the reason Angela Petrelli gave Gabriel Bridget to feed on? So that he can confirm the past?
If the past included angela trying to kill him, then when he touched his mother, he would know right? So perhaps Sylar knew Arthur was lying all along, but just playing along, his IA tells him it's better to stay on the father's side for a while and get info on Pinehearst... and when the crunch comes, Sylar will return Peter his powers, somehow, and switch sides and own..
That's my idea on how it's going to happen.

I wanna know how Nathan's going to fit into all of this, he's just like the middle child - noone really pays him any attention, he's the "least special" as sylar would put it. Maybe he's the one who will destroy pinehearst instead of sylar or peter, that would be a good twist. I mean that flying tackle peter did on sylar looked pretty painful...
And plus, why did sylar stop peter having the injection, i really want him to have his powers back!!!!
_Z_
Oct 28 2008, 07:33 AM
Well Peter getting his powers back throught the injection is way to predictable, I'm sure the writers have something better in mind.
As for Sylar saving Peter, I really thought he really sounded confused :/ Personally I think that all of Peter's power isn't gone yet and he managed to fly a tiny bit.

THere's two ways to look at this though....
Sylar slowed it down or Arthur slowed it down.
I don't think Arthur ever wanted to kill any of his sons. He could of killed Sylar or Peter any minute. But he chose to try to ally himself with them. He probably thinks he's got Sylar or maybe he does and I think he wanted Peter on his side but he had to take Peter's powers away to make him understand.

This is a really good point, considering how stupid Peter acts sometimes. We don't need another idiot Petrelli. It seemed to me Peter was more interested in using IA to figure out how people's emotions affected their decisions rather than how it worked, and becasue of that he was not able to see the danger of his father. Gabriel on the other hand could see Arthur's intentions. I'm sure that's why he didn't take his father's hand.

Yah I'm sure Syler is just playing Arthur. After all there was a spoiler saying that both Syler and Peter would always be moma boy's so yah know what that means. I'm thinking Syler saved Peter becuase Peter tried to save him, I mean Peter was going to help him agianst Mohinder and than came back for him and tolled him that took back every thing he said about him and to just kick his a** already. I think he's starting to like Peter personally. Ask for Nathan I think Nathan will turn evil, he likes daddy after all and well he's evil you do the math.

i really like alot of the theories getting thrown around on here, and could we have another situation of saving someone to save the world? sylar saved peter to save the world perhaps? i know its a basic theory but it could work? yes?

Oct 28 2008, 04:27 PM
Certainly I agree with what others have said Sylar is merely gaining scope on the situation and playing along with Arthur. I think he generally does care about Peter hence saving him from the fall.

It seemed to me from what Arthur said when he held out his hand he wanted Gabriel to see the truth with clairsentience. I'm guessing either his IA or his telepathy is set on full blast or he has some other way of telling a person's aquired abilities just by looking at them. I remember Sylar could tell Peter was "like me" in S1 but it didn't seem like he could tell Peter could heal and turn invisible.

I like the Peter-Gabriel relationship more than I do the Peter-Nathan one.
With Nathan he is the older brother so Peter always goes to him to ask for help
or advice. Where as with Gabriel they seem to be even

Peter has always been the one with teh big heart and I think ever since the future episode
where Gabriel exlodes and Peter shouts 'Gabriel!' I think he's been changing his mind about
him and Gabriel feels closer to Peter because they are the same

Really hope it'll be a showdown with the 2 brothers against their father

that would be sick!!
