Okay, I'm currently heavily involved writing a Fantasy novel much like the worlds of Forgotten Realms only more grown-up and less PG-13 more NC-17. When my publicist and I have our weekly's we are always kicking around new ideas and directions we feel the readers would enjoy the most.
One of the struggles you ALWAYS have to climb over in the creation process (with story telling) are the problems of 1) how much to tell the audience, 2) how much to leave for the final climax, and 3) how much to leave to the brains of the audience to figure out on their own. One thing I'm pushing REALLY hard is replay / re-read value. My concept is when you finish the final pages you feel a massive need to re-read the whole story with the knowledge you have now.
With the growing amount of DVD sales and people constantly having the media instantly at their finger tips is it so hard to assume that the reason this seasons radical twists and turns are being done is to provide you with a greater understanding for the re-watch? And if it isn't the case (as much as I hate typing this) then the show deserves to be taken off the air for going insane with its own power and forgetting what it was giving the fans in the beginning.
Like many fan-boys/girls or just fanatics, I'm just trying to understand the problems the show can't stop tripping over.
