i hope!
The DOKTOR
I wonder how the eclipse could have an influence on super-powers?
Unless these powers are of extra-terrestrial origin (which I hope not), I can't wait to see how they'll link astronomy and genetics...
TheGermanGuy89
My theory is that the eclipse will reactivate Sylar's "lost powers" he gained before his infection with the shanti virus... So we'll see him using "Trevor's Ability" again wink.gif ...and the others of course too

Peter and Maya maybe get their Powers back, Elle can control hers again and the others won't be much affected... Remember that there was a eclipse in S1 Ep1 --> it didn't affect much the powers of the "old" guys like Arthur, Linderman, Adam, Angela and so on or at least we don't really know wink.gif

Maybe it helps people to manifest or fix their powers somehow...if they're "broken". And the other Heroes can't use it at that moment or something like that...but normally a eclipse takes place only a few minutes smile.gif

We'll see ( I'm saying this too often^^)
Peterfangirl20
I hope Peter gets his powers back here, with Knox and Flint after him and Claire hey'll sure need his powers.

a crazy theory of mine:
but what about a sudden power exchange? the powers are transferred out of the blue to somebody else, thereby mixing everything up and creating confusion? cool.gif laugh.gif

I think the eclipse is just the moon saying to the sun, "Move b*tch, get out the way!"

Seriously though;

I don't really think the eclipse will DO anything to our Heroes, it's more of away to explain how the dark is going to over take the light. Or in Heroes case, the villains over shadowing the Heroes. If by the end of part 2 Peter gets his power back yay, but I don't know if I'm down with the whole "celestial objects grant/take abilities" thing yet. Give me the 1st 1/2 hour on Monday and we'll see.

One question that just popped into my mind is, will the eclipse affect the "synthetics" in the same way as the "naturals"?
Maybe the "naturals" really have their powers for a reason and the eclipse wil affect this reason, but the "synthetics" will remain unaffected?

That's an interesting theory

I have a theory about the eclipse. I think that the eclipse will render everyone powerless! That would explain why Arthur is looking for the formula to give powers so badly! Can you imagine if he was the only one with powers in the word? Or he could just give someone a shot, and then steal their powers for himself! rolleyes.gif

Just a thought!

PS: First post! woohoo! happy.gif
Hathor
Arthur the only one with powers? EEK!!!
I wish they would decide who is the evilest of them all already, geez. S1 it was "OMIGOD Sylar is the face of Evil" in S2 it was "OMIGOD Adam has a 400 year old grudge and wants to take over the world! He's the worst one ever!" now it's "OMIGOD Arthur is big daddy Evil and is going to destroy the world!"

i predict next season will have Mr Muggles as the main Villain!!!

Anyway, i don't think the eclipse itself affects the powers at all, it might be a system of time measurement or something, but Nathan had already flown before the ecl.....wait a tic.....Nathans a synthetic and he had his ability before the eclipse happened. Does that mean the eclipse doesn't affect the synthetics? But some of the Naturals (a club to which i assume Claire belongs...) had abilities pre eclipse also. ARGH! I give up. One more day....

Or vice versa? Solar flares, hot spots, radiation, etc. Hence the power loss?

You may be right about the exchange of abilities. A trailer I saw online (see below URL) has Tracy Strauss floating. Although its not part of the show but why would they show it unless it has some significant meaning to it?

Tammy
I think it gives abilities...so they will back Peter and Maya's abilities...

ALSO I just watched season 2 episode 1, where Hiro is 16-something. There is the eclipse aswell...althought it didn't effect Hiro...Adam/Kensei on the other hand had the abillity to heal all of the sudden! biggrin.gif
Enemy of Reality
It's always been my assumption that these eclipses sort of have a speeding up a effect on abilities, mostly by helping people to manifest, like Tammy said about Adam Monroe. I'm fairly certain it has that effect on people who haven't yet manifested, but like everyone else I'm curious about the implications it has on those who have already have control over their abilities. A while ago I thought it would strip everyone of their powers, but now I'm not so sure... I doubt it will switch abilities, or leave everyone powerless while characters such as Peter & Maya regain their powers, I've got the feeling that it will return stolen abilities but also amplify everyone's powers to almost uncontrollable levels, like with how Elle's electricity has been freaking out.

Elle is shorting out because she has lived a sheltered life, directed by her father and the company. She is almost child like, and now thats been taken from her, her emotions are going crazy. Her emotions are the reason for it. Remember Noah last episode bluffing Elle when she questioned him about Gabriel,.... he just told her to go.

The eclipse could possibly restore powers in someone like Peter. But judging by recent pics of Gabriel in tactical gear, I'm changing my think that Peter and lots more will be powerless in 'Fugitives'. Why would Gabriel be wearing tactical gear?

Maybe,... but what I posted is probable with the GN on Fallon and then one with Gabriel feeling like the outsider more recently.

Why would someone with abilities be armed with shotgun shells?

Nay, it's for the boys wink.gif
StryderSylar202
Maybe this is where Ando gets the whole red-lightning ability we saw him use to kill Future Hiro
This eclipse could activate powers in people whos bodies can accept powers (like how Nathans body could accept the flying power and so they gave him powers)
This could be a way to introduce new characters?
Though they have loads of characters they can bring in from the graphic novels who are just going to waste IMO
SandmanX
Seeing that Sylar (and almost everyone else) gained/upgraded a new/current ability, I'm not surprised if Peter regains his powers with extra perks thrown in the mix.

ROFL!!!!!!!!

Yeh but anyway i think it would be pretty cool if all the heroes lost their powers, and a new wave of heroes were born. I think the good thing about season 1 was watching people discover and learn how to use their powers and i would love to see that again smile.gif

And maybe the heroes powers' are powered by the sun - like solar panels, and if the sun is completely blocked out then they won't be able to use them. Although that means they wouldn't be able to use them at night...... dry.gif

They even had a joke about Mr Muggles on BtE. laugh.gif

As I saw in a spoiler video on the URL given below, I think at the time of eclipse heroes will be powerless and regain their abilities when eclipse ends. It may also give power to new people also.
but I myself doubt my theory.

I automatically relate the eclipse thing to... werewolves... they turn into wolves when the moon is full (and howl to the moon etc.) - so, in a similar way I'm kind'a having a general guess - that an eclipse will somehow trigger a kind of emotional response in people with abilities - that will affect their abilities... somehow. As we all know by now (Muhinder discovered it with Maya - Sylar doing it with Elle) - the basis of manifesting the abilities - is through emotions...
