Full Version: Dumb people watching heroes
Got Heroes > Heroes: Episode Discussion > Season Three > Volume Three: Villains > 3x08 - "Villains"
Flakjack
First off this might not be the right place to post it but i just have to do it now cause i can't keep it in me anymore. Heroes is a great serie with a crappy season 2 and a bad start with season 3 but coming back to its exciting atmosphere like season 1. When i saw the first episode of this season i thought oh my god its turning in a soap but its not. If you really think about its they have set the stage for a great storyline in season 1 and and that storyline isn't finished. Everything happened in season 1 happened for a reason and in season 3 we see those reasons. We are gonna see the big plan.

Now for the people watching heroes (just a small amount of viewers i mean now) aren't using their mind. They are bloating in topics that crap is inconsisent en it doesn't match up with the story. I urge them to watch every episode again cause the story is right. And people dont think. If sylar doesn't use a power it doesn't mean he doesn't have it either. THINK PEOPLE!!! We see so many heroes could use their powers in certain situations but they just dont. Peter and his powers could have stopped everyone already but it would mean the show would end in one episode and we dont want that right. THINK PEOPLE !!! Like for instance now if Arthur takes hiro's power he is unstoppable (maybe sylar could stop him though). Arthur with his mind reading could have easily absorped it from someone else cuz his base power is absorbing other powers. THINK PEOPLE !!! The only thing i'm worried about is that arthur is getting unstoppable since he is the onlu one using his powers to his full extent. Arthur knew Hiro was dreaming about him (Arthur could have used to see the future ability) and he instantly teleported to africa (Arthur uses his time traveling power) THINK PEOPLE !!!. People are saying ando is getting powers. How the f*** is he gonna get powers. We saw him get powers in an alternate future which Arthur is trying to create and the heroes are trying to stop. I see sow many people complaining the writers are messing things up but i think they are doing such a great job that you guys watching it just dont know what is happening anymore. And if there are any plot holes then they are minor and dont effect the storyline. Really people should watch the episodes again. 6 months is 6 months ago and 5.5 month could also be seen as 6 months ago so a could happen in two weeks as we have seen in episode 1 and 2 of season 3. I see people on these boards here make assumptions about characters and the story but if you think logic those assumptions are based on the confusion of those people.

Its a bit of a long post dont mean every viewer but just saying if you dont get the story anymore watch everything again and make notes or so cause it is consistent but you guys just dont get it anymore while its not that hard to follow. you guys should also remember why season 2 is f***ed up and thats been mainly due to the writers strike.

I agree with almost everything said, btw. People complain about ridiculous things in this show (along the lines of why didn't Hiro travel back in time and stop this from happening). It's ridiculous, and as much as Heroes isn't perfect, nitpicking on these tiny problems that a few moments of thought could solve is just idiotic. Seriously, is their life so bland and uninteresting that they don't even have a small stretch of imagination to explain these sorts of things?! You know who you are people, you're inciting a very negative atmosphere angry.gif

@ Flackjack: I hear you, bruvva! welcome to the forum, btw. But if you find one of these "dumb complaint threads", it wouldn't be a great idea to go swearing your head off at the person, k? wink.gif

I agree with pretty much everything said. Although it does really bug me that Sylar almost never uses any powers besides telekinesis...

I mean, they should show him at least using Charlie's memory power or Dale's Super hearing. But sadly, not so much...

they're gone!! This has been said so many times. All the powers he acquired before contracting the virus are gone, with the exception of his base power Intuitive Aptitude and Telekinesis (since that's on his genetic marker)

@neddac: In case you weren't joking, posting on a forum is far better than watching TV non-stop (the average TV viewing time in the UK is 9 hours per day!!!) or playing brainless video games for hours on end. So I don't think posting on gotHeroes means we have bland lives, though I guess some of us (like me) do spend an awful lot of time on here!

ah, hit the nail on the head, didn't you? laugh.gif

This point has been debated to death. But it has been confirmed that present-day Sylar doesn't have any of his pre-virus powers (excluding IA and TK). There are two possible explanations for Sylar not having any of his pre-virus powers at the moment, but having them all back in the future:

1) His body is still ridding itself of the power-removing effects of the virus. Given enough time, he will recover them back, so we just need to wait

2) He re-stole radioactivity and precognitive painting from 2 entirely new people in the future

mmm the first one is the most likely one. him re -stealing powers i doubt since he managed to get his hunger under control. funy how we turned a thread about dumb people into a talk about sylar

Nexus nailed it,..... I really wish people would read some threads before posting. As I'm always seeing the same pointless questions that my 11 yr old niece has no problem understanding being constantly asked.

If your new to the show, or unsure use Heroes Wiki. You should be using this aswell as previous posts, before posting stupid ideas. dry.gif

Can I get a round of applause and an AMEN! from the congregation?!?!

I too take issue with the Debbie Downers around here who can't see the forest for the trees and have become so immersed in looking for excuses to bash the show that they've forgetten how to just sit back and enjoy it. Then these same people p*ss and moan about the ratings. You know it's gotten bad when you go to a fan forum and spend more time defending the show and yourself for enjoying it than actually discussing the events that have transpired.

Forgive the cheesy metaphor, but isn't it interesting how the fan community has been drifting into 2 sides lately.....

Heroes vs. Villains, perhaps?

OK 1 post Heroes expert!
I disagree with you on one point as I dont think Arthur has time travelling abilities!
(amended should read I dont think Arthur used time travelling when he seemed to be in Africa)

also although I agree with you annoyance at stupid complainers I also
get annoyed with people who think they know everything about the series and possible outcomes
No one knows 'exactly' what is going on or going to happen and that is the reason we all
watch and love this show so much. We can all guess and hypothesise as much as we want
and this is enjoyable but dont start talking as if your Tim Kring in disguise and
know everything about the series! Because you dont!

Unless you are actually Tim Kring in which case please accept my humble apologies.

Yeah, I always considered you a 'Hero' (lol I love where this Heroes vs. Villains thing is going) and I agree that Heroes is by far the best show on TV. Despite its mistakes, it constantly delivers an exciting and thrilling plot (ignore Season 2 for now wink.gif) and I really absolutely love it!

Well apart from the fact that usually it's intelligent people who pick holes in things, due to seeing too many sides to things at once, dont you find it ironic when a person calls others dumb in a post with virtually no spacing a lot of grammatical error's and swearing?

ps: im not normally a grammar nazi, as we all make grammar mistakes, but in the case of a post accusing people of being dumb ill make an exception.
Hero2012
I don't think Sylar 'lost' his abilities. or else how would he have heard HRG telling vortex guy to kill Sylar, Sylar knew it in the car!
plus, i saw all the episodes and never was mentioned that he lost them, its just a stupid rumour. not true.

Sure, it's ironic. So is this accusation coming from someone who hasn't even mastered the use of apostrophes, commas, and basic capitalization. Nice attempt to cover your bases with the post script, but it didn't work. It still came across as hypocritical.

In defense of Flakjack, intelligence requires more than just asking questions; it also involves finding answers, particularly those that aren't quite so obvious. While Flakjack's post lacked attention to grammar, it more than met the requirements of an intelligent post.
Skalli
Im sorry but there while i love heroes and think its been great s0 far there is some dumb stuff happening in it. Elle/sylar stuff was cute and i like it, but it does not fit in with what has gone before at all. Yes Elle is acting (well not really she actually liked sylar) but how does she pull that off so well, then suddenly become mad b**** in s2. She seemed very switched on in this episode, nothing like what we have seen from her in the past.
Phoenix
I agree with almost everything too smile.gif

Often the characters simply don't user their powers, 'cause I think, if they would it would be over all pretty soon and solved^^

We have a joke here (in germany, don't know if you know it, if yes, sry) about Lord of the rings, which is perfect to this situation:
Imagine you are Gandalf, are with Bilbo and "get" that ring.
What are you doing?( we all know he gives it to Frodo and everything begins)
Gandalf answers: "I take that f*****g ring, climb on the back of one of those eagles, fly to that f*****g mountain and throw the ring into the lava."^^

So the story could have been so simply solved, but then there never would have been all those books, games and movies, right? 'Cause there wouldn't be any story at all wink.gif
Unsung Heroine
Great post, Phoenix. Thank you for sharing.

And Skalli, great example of a post that questions plot points and show direction without bashing, belittling those who enjoy it, or writing the show off to the cancellation bin.

One thing that I think is often overlooked as people question things or find debatable plot holes is the fact that so much of the show revolves around things we have yet to see. It becomes a battle of wills between those of us who assume that it will all make sense eventually and trust the writers to show us when the time is right, and those of us who don't have that faith in the show. Obviously this isn't always the case, but I think you'll find it is quite often true if you look at discussions that have come up in the past.

Personally, I enjoy the feeling of wondering how it's all going to play out. In fact, it's probably my biggest motivation for tuning in every Monday night (especially ever since they cut off Peter's sexy emo bangs and threw away his trenchcoat.....grrr). Without the mystery and suspense, Heroes wouldn't be half the show it is, in my opinion.

And I have to say again, I agree.
Especially, we all shouldn't forget: This is JUST a Tv Show, and it's there, to entertain.
I really like Heroes, normally I'm not into Series, most of the time I think they're boring, but Heroes always makes me courios about the next things to happen. And I always "hate" to see the end of a volume and sit there, d***, in the middle of the happenings? Now I have to wait a week again to know what happens next biggrin.gif
But, after all, it's like I said just a show and not worth arguing but talking about different opinions in a civilized way is great, sometimes gives a whole new point of view, or things, you haven't thought of before smile.gif

he did rolleyes.gif

1. he didnt hear HRG, (there was no music that goes along with that power), he is a smart gu and worked out what was going on.
2. the writers have said it (at first i thought they were joking, but it has been said 2 times over 2 different weeks, thats enough for me)

3.. as far as sylar having powers in the future, well its been 4 years, lots can happen in 4 years (when i saw the african guy (forgot his name ><)without his head, i thought it was sylar, would have answered the question about having Isaacs power in the future))

either way.. obviously he will get his powers back, either by killing again or 'fixing himself' to get the old ones back.. but he hasnt got them yet.

I find it hard to understand how according to the writers he lost all of his abilities except TK, i mean what was it about TK that meant he couldn't loose it? It's not his base ability, IA is.

Woooaaa... just please calm down a bit, there is no need to use words like this especially when you talk about other peoples thoughts. This is what this board is for... talking about different thoughts and opinions but in a civilized way please.
And you can't expect from everyone to share your thoughts and insult them if they don't.

The truth is, noone knows for sure if he lost them or not until we get an answer in the show.
And even if the writers say something, just think of something... they could change their mind^^... until it's not shown on TV in the show, they are free to write how ever they want it to be and it wouldn't be the first time, people have plans how the plot is going to be and then rewrite and change it or cut scenes out because they changed other plotlines while writing or whatever. So everybody just relax... there is no need for arguing because of things like this. Everything is open, until you see it on TV wink.gif
