Chapter 1:
After Mohinder got acquainted with Zane he brought him back to his apartment to show him his father’s findings.
Mohinder and Zane walked into the dilapidated apartment and stepped around a few piles of paper’s and books. “Sorry for the mess. I haven’t had anytime to organize anything because I’ve been to busy trying to call people and locate more people on my father’s list.” Mohinder said apologetically. Zane smiled and shrugged his shoulders, “It’s understandable, I wouldn’t call my apartment spotless either”, Zane said referring to the melted puddles that had surrounded the floor of his apartment. Both men chuckled at the joke and Mohinder motioned for Zane to sit down. ‘Zane seems nice enough to show him some of my findings’, thought Mohinder happily. At least he would have someone else to talk to about this whole ordeal. It was getting a bit difficult to handle by himself. ‘How did my father ever do this by himself’, Mohinder thought sadly. Apart of him felt guilty for not coming with his father to help him in his theories; it would have been a good time to get to know him better. He could have prevented his father’s death if only he had believed in him. Mohinder started spacing out thinking about his father dead when Zane interrupted his thoughts.
“Mohinder? Are you alright?” Zane asked in concern. “Oh sorry. I guess I just spaced out.”
Mohinder sat down in his father’s char that was seated next to his computer. He typed in a few keys and said “Zane, I want you to see this”. “This is a list my father had compiled that has most of all the people that is known for possessing unique abilities.”
Sylar’s heart skipped when he looked at the lengthy list of people that had abilities he would soon be acquiring. “Wow! Who are we going to go to first?” Sylar said looking hungrily at the screen.
“Well, there is a young girl nearby that my father met. There isn’t much in the file about her.” Mohinder said disappointed. ‘I guess both of us haven’t had much luck contacting anyone who was deemed as special, huh father?’ Mohinder thought ironically.
“Then let’s go.” Sylar said spacing out wondering what abilities this girl possessed.
Mohinder nodded in agreement and started gathering some of his things.
As Mohinder was getting his things, Sylar looked at the apartment that had once belonged to Chandra Suresh, the man he had killed. Sylar’s eye caught the giant map on the wall that contained the locations and pictures of some of the people that Chandra Suresh had found to contain special abilities. Sylar smiled darkly, he will get everyone’s powers.
Chapter 2:
Mohinder finished packing up his things and called Zane. “All right then, let’s go and get the door slammed in our faces.” Mohinder said joking. Zane chuckled at his joke and headed out the door. Mohinder grabbed his bag and headed to the front door also. He took a look around his apartment and took a deep breath, ‘let’s hope this adventure will be a fruitful one’, he thought. Stepping out of the door he locked it and both men headed towards Mohinder’s car that was parked outside.
In the car ride, it was a bit quiet so Mohinder started to talk about the girl that they were going to meet. He handed the file to Zane so he could concentrate on driving. Zane took the folder and looked through it. “So is there an address?” Mohinder said. “Um, yea, it’s 141-153 West 139th Street”, said Zane looking through the folder.
There wasn’t that much information about the girl they were going to see. ‘Good going Suresh. Guess I’ll have to find out myself’, thought Sylar displeased at the lack of information Suresh hadn’t provided. It was just going to make Sylar’s job a bit more difficult, at least it would be a challenge. Sylar hadn’t used much of his powers and he was getting a bit annoyed. When he had killed Zane he hadn’t put up much of a fight and that’s what Sylar needed, otherwise he was going to be very cranky.
“Let’s hope that she still lives there.” Zane read, “Your father wrote that she doesn’t stay in one place too long.” “Heh, well with the price of renting I’m amazed that anyone can afford to live in New York.” Mohinder said absently.
“True,” agreed Zane.
“Do you see a telephone number so we can make sure that she still lives there?” Mohinder asked turning on the street that would soon take them to the girl’s apartment.
Suddenly Sylar’s stomach knotted in anticipation of meeting another person that was special like him. Sylar looked through the folder but did not see a phone number. “Nope, no telephone number.” Sylar said a bit puzzled. ‘Who wouldn’t have a telephone, especially in one of the busiest countries in the United States?’
“Zane, I really want to thank you again about coming with me to meet all these people. It would be a nightmare trying to convince these people that they have special abilities and that they are in danger of being killed by a psychopath.”
“Oh, it’s no problem,” Sylar said looking away from Mohinder and staring out the window.
An hour later they arrived after some heavy traffic and confusion of streets. They finally arrived at the next special person that had an extraordinary power. Sylar breathed hungrily at the scent of the girl. He knew she was very special and soon would be apart of his collection.
