Full Version: Great Episode.
Got Heroes > Heroes: Episode Discussion > Season One > Chapter 12 - "Godsend"
Nathan Petrelli
The ending was quite good, though not the cliff hanger we hoped for.. unless the fact that jessica is a replacment for god makes her something more, I.E. Satan.. but that's highly unlikely. The invisible man thing seems pretty cool though.

I'm glad it wasn't a huge cliffhanger, makes it easier to wait another week.
FallAway
I liked the ending, it certainly implied a great break-out scene I'm gonna look forward too. Geez, I loved everything about the episode! Especially Claire and Zach regaining their friendship, and the great Nathan/Hiro scene..."flying man!" Great stuff!

I'm so excited I'm shaking in my seat! Bring on another eppy NBC, I can't wait! I would love to see if the number of viewers that watched Heroes beat P. Bush's speech. I know what all my friends watched at least. tongue.gif

For some reason I LOVED that last line! "You don't need God, you've got me." Wow, some powerful stuff! As much as I love this show, did anyone else feel somethings were a little...forced? Like when Peter asked for plane to Nevada. Like they're forcing Peter and Niki or DL to meet up somehow. But I guess he's just doing that so he can explode in an area where things are already exploding tongue.gif I don't know, maybe I'm just forgetting the fact that two weeks has already past?

A couple of questions though --

How the hell did Ted end up in Nevada?
When did HRG stalk Mohinder to India?

Wow, I am really out of the loop!

Take a look at the on-line comic for additional info on Ted. wink.gif

Great episode!

I remember Ted escaping in one of the earlier eps, causing his escort car to explode. Probably escaped at that point. I loved when they showed him trying to control his power. Cool stuff! Glad he just didn't disappear.

Lot of neat little hints popping up. So it's been only three weeks since the series actually started, as we know that when Hiro jumped to the future in New york, he jumped six weeks into the future (correct me if I'm wrong). I love his scene with Nathan! Lol, and his slow motion! Though you'd think they'd have the museum displays under lock and key...ah well.

Speaking of Nathan, he seemed very keen on helping everyone this time around, as far as stopping the bomb and all. Didn't seem very sleazy this ep, which is cool.

Peter said, "I absorbed his power..." in the dream sequence. I assume he'll encounter Ted eventually. Maybe his trip to Nevada forced them to meet up.

Claude seems cool. My first impression was that he's always invisible...but I'm thinking he can choose to be invisible when he wants.

I think the Haitian may be my new favorite character! Claire's storyline keeps getting more and more interesting! Looks like she'll be going all espionage in the next ep.

I really hope they give Isaac more to do than just trying to win back Simone. He's too important to everyone. Hope DL gets more to do as well. Don't really care too much about Micah.

Parkman, I think, will continue on his own with finding Sylar or discovering the truth about HRG. Curious to see what his wife thinks of his mind reading... blink.gif maybe she has a power too!

Mohinder...I dunno...kinda obvious that he'll start working with HRG.

Nikki showed super strength without turning into Jessica! Maybe she had her under control or it's something they both have. Her storyline should be getting better this arc.

One thing I didn't like was Simone's sudden acceptance of Isaac's and Hiro's powers...felt weird. And Linderman seems to be everywhere! Here's hoping we see some light shed on this mystery man.

Arc 2 begins...and we're off and running!

Ted escaped in Fall Out, right after Matt found out about his wife. I'm sure he was just looking for a really secluded place to be and ended up in a cabin in NV.

HRG stalked Mohinder in India after he found out his dad was dead and went to his office (i believe it was in Genesis).

not really "stalking" mohinder, but HRG was in India when Mohinder came to his father's office to clean it out.

I thought it was a great episode too. Well worth the wait. I wanted to see more of Matt and his wife though. I would really have loved to see what she thought and if he convinced her. Where it cut she was laughing and thinking he was being funny. I hope they show more of her reaction next week.

I think Claude can make himself invisible whenever he wants.
He's supposed to help Peter control his powers and he couldn't do that if he can't switch his own powers on and off.
He certainly seems to be taking advantage of his power.

Not sure if that's classed as a spoiler but I'm just staying on the safe side.

Good point about Claude.

Can't seem to bring myself to like this opener. There was a lot of re-hashing in this episode that wasn't necessary. While I think it will probably be necessary for Claire (aka Wolverine) to bring Zach's memory back by reliving their friendship, it just feels unnecessary and doesn't move the story forward.

Nikki/Jessica storyline has been so exhausted that it's making me grow irritated with Ali Larter (and I normally love her!). Most of her story has been so horribly repetitive that it's just spinning around in circles getting nowhere. I lost interest in this story during November sweeps and PLEASE NO more Pasdar/Larter storylines. The chemistry between them is bizarre and uncomfortable to watch. The characters don't even "mix" well.

Peter Petrelli's (aka Rogue) storyline is progressing slightly. I think they are giving Milo perhaps the meatiest part of the whole show. While I like Peter sometimes I just feel the writing is just not taking advantage of moving forward. He like most of the stories just spin in circles but after this week's eppy it seems to at least progressing now. I think the Invisi-Guy and Peter's relationship will be interesting to watch unfold.

Nathan Petrelli's story is by far one of my favorite. It's just sad they have given him so little to do and I wished the screen time they devote to Nikki/Jessica would be given to Nathan instead. Such a complex hero who is in denial of his powers. This week he really is starting to come to terms with it but still slightly resisting. Everytime Pasdar graces the screen he brings along a wonderful charm that captivates the viewer.

Isaac and Simone. WOW! Just when I thought Simone couldn't get any more pathetic. Isaac's clean so now she's all googly eyed after she slept with Peter which for some reason strikes me as "wrong" in all ways possible. I think Isaac has a chance of becoming a very intriguing hero but Simone should be axed by this season. Her characterization along with Nikki/Jessica is just irritating. It looks like Isaac wants her back and Simone seems to want to go back, I think sadly the series will try to make a love triangle out of this Peter/Simone/Isaac. yuck!

Mohinder's storyline this week like all weeks previously is boring. Just alot of empty dialogue that's just spinning its wheels until "sweeps". I think his purpose will really make an impact come Season Finale. Or at least I hope so.

Matt Parkman! OK, he's been the only reason I watch this show. I LOVE his storyline the most because Grunberg makes so much out of the little bits of screentime he's allowed. Everytime the show ends I'm left wanting to know more about this down on his luck cop. His personal and professional life are both equally intriquing and his Psi battles with the Hatian were intense. I wished they would just spinoff this character because he would be much more entertaining to watch on a solo show. This week only proves how masterful Grunberg is in this role. If anyone deserved a Globe Nomination it would have been him this year instead of Masi but I also understand that this show give MASI much more screentime to exhibit his talent.

So far the return to the tube was a little underwhelming but I'm expecting next month's "Sweeps" to be incredibly exciting.

Oh that apartment was in India? I was thinking the whole time it was in New York!

And I don't remember Ted escaping in Fallout, but I'll take your word for it.

I agree with you MissLadyVenus on Simone. I really never liked her character either. She's too indecisive, and that's just really annoying. Either stay with Isaac, or go to Peter, or just get killed already...

And I know what you mean with Niki's plot line going in circles. Even though it is that way, she is still my favorite character. At least we found out that she has superstrength last night, so we found out something.

Mohinder also bores me as well. Okay, we get it, you want to find all of the heroes and warn them about their powers (even though they know). Do it already!
Tazorak
I liked this episode also. I think in the next few episodes might have Linderman in it, and its interesting how almost all the heroes have somewhat a link to Linderman.
Hiro Nakamara
I think it is safe to say all the heroes have a link to Linderman. I didn't get why Hrg even offers to mohinder to join together. I think Hrg has some other purposes for mohinder then just information. Wether it be sceinctist in the little group or what. Overall i thought the episode was really intresting especially the whole hiro and ando, i like how he can slow time down.
ClubStyle_DJ
I gotta see if I can get the post from the "former" site and cut and paste it here.

found it!

Ahhhhhhh, My jones has been satisfied! Dude I'm starting to dislike HRG, he may have good intentions but he's lookin and actin quite governmental (operative word here is "mental"). I seriously thought Sylar would mentally crush the bug or something, like you can't control me suck-a. Eden...wouldn't ya know it she ain't coming back and she's got an interesting story, ain't it always the way? Hey I called it wayyy back, Micah is gonna hitup the ATM machines. I told ya! OMG Nikiessica is in a rubber room! I woulda put her there too after that lawyer scene. OMG did she kick that cops ass or what? They need to show that scene cuz she put a hurtin on that dude. I'm ready to have the Linderman story develop, he's got his little hands in everybodys business. Invisible guys story should be good. Matt needs to leave that cheatin witch and go for the FBI chick. 5 will get ya 10 that's what happens. I was like (at the paper mill) read his mind dude...then oh wait where's the Hatian...oh... over there.....duh!

All in all it wasn't a bad episode, wasn't quite worth the agony of the wait, but that's hollywood for ya.

Not as many comercials or am I wrong?

Oh BTW does anybody have a good, clear screen capture of Nikiessica's chest being smashed against the glass I want that as an avatar! Chicks and glass do it for me...(I'm a bit of a perv...sue me.)

Who needs god when you've got ME!

Great episode and I'm really liking the whole Haitian and Claire working together behind HRG's back, that makes for a good story. Also it was hilarious when Hiro stole the sword and then walked outside saw it was a replica and was like..I'll take it back, all dejectedly. Anyway I'm really looking forward to next week!
DCSimian
Now that the Haitian is in the loop, I think we'll see less and less of Zach and Claire, which isn't a bad thing. Her interactions with the Haitian are far more important to the overall story of the show and the Haitian is just plain cool wink.gif If Zach pops in every now and then, that's fine, but I hope they don't divert Claire's story to helping him get his memory back.

The show is definetly at its best when the characters cross paths. Saying that, DL and company need to start interacting with the other Heroes more, which I think they will given that Linderman seems to be tying them all together. Ted needs more screentime. Period. Especially after watching the preview with Hana (she's hot btw wink.gif ) I like that he's trying to control his powers. He seems good natured, but a button pushed here or there could cause mushroom clouds in the air laugh.gif

Characters that need more screentime: Matt, Nathan, Ted, DL, Haitian, Isaac, Linderman (since we haven't seen him at all), Sylar

Characters that need less: Nikki, Simone, Zach, Audry (bugged the hell outta me), Mohinder (or give him something to do!), and yes...even Hiro (I love the guy, but he gets a lot of screentime)

My 2 cents.
Hiro Nakamara
I agree i don't like alot of peoples screen time, but what are you gonna do. I disagree Hiro doesn't get much screen time he gets the perfect amount. But definetly Dl and Mika need more.

Ted didnt escape in Fallout it was in Seven Minutes to Midnight he was in an FBI car and he made it explode.

Im glad Im not the only one who was pissed off by that. Plus I think the love triangle thing will only last a couple of episodes , what with Peter being more concerend about exploding. Simone will start to feel neglected and seek comfort in Issac.

Now I did like Ali Larter's acting as she switched between Jessica and Niki. They exist in one body but she does pull off them being seperate people. She gives Jessica this dead yet menacing look that chills a person.

On the side I am hoping they bring Niki/Jessica and Nathan back together soon. Sure Nathan's connection was more with Jessica but still I loved it when they shared screentime before.

I'll second that one, I had to send my boys out of the room for that one, but I sure watched it, again, and again, and again, LOL!!!! wink.gif

Yes I do believe that Simone and Isaac will be getting back together and probably soon. Also I must admit that Ali Larter does an amazing job playing both Niki and Jessica, especially in episode 12
