Faux Secrets

Television shows come and go, but because of the wonder that is YouTube, I've started to re-discover a lot of television shows I used to watch and love, and started to think up a list of quite a few shows I miss from the "good 'ol days." How about you?
What television shows do you miss? And if you've watched the show since (on DVD or otherwise..) how do you feel about it now that you're older?Okay so, the show in question for me that I missed the most (and totally forgot about until recently, to be honest). I used to watch it when I was maybe eight or nine years old, and I used to watch it religiously. For some reason I remembered the show lasting longer than it really did, which was three season's worth. Up until recently, the show hasn't been released on DVD, and even though I'm not a kid anymore, I fully intend on buying the first season of
SeaQuest DSV.
Now that I'm older, I actually understand a lot more of the content, and I'd venture to say I love it as much or more than I used to

Well I recently started rewatching Everwood and I think that I love the show more now than when I watched it on television a few years back. I can't really think of anything else that I've rewatched..

I miss alot of shows that were on in my childhood.....like I used to watch the cartoons, Danger Mouse and Count Duckula when I was a child (so when I found them on DVD I just had to buy them

)..I also used to watch a show called 'Supergran' and I would just love to see it on TV again, as well as 'Wurzel Gummedge' (Oh I miss my childhood full stop lmao)
As for more 'adult' shows hehe I always enjoy re-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, and also Red Dwarf!
Okay I think I watch way too much TV and there are way too many shows that I wish were still on!!

I miss a cartoon on Nickelodeon that ran in the early '90s called "Doug." Sadly, I don't think it has come to DVD, but looking back, I remember it being hilarous and yet, kind of stupid. Really- what type of town is called "Bluffington"?

True, and normally when they turn a show like that into a movie it either doesn't work or spoils the show for me!
I keep seeing trailers for the 'Transformers' movie and gaging cause thats another show i remember from my childhood

Another show I really miss is Invasion. It was cancelled by ABC last year, which was a shame.

oh my god, seriously? Really, why keep making these old TV shows in to movies, how ridiculous!
Does anyone remember that show
Life Goes On? I don't miss it per se (I don't really remember it all that well, to be honest..), but I had one of those random 'I remember that show!' moments when I realized they used The Beatles' 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da' for the credits

Because once upon a time they were popular and film studios who have lost all sense of creativity think they can recreate this hits and make lots of money..I know exactly how you feel

Haha they're making a thundercats movie??? How cheesy, I remember watching that a lot though.
Ooh, a show I miss a lot is Reboot. That show was awesome until the two kids turned adult. I also miss Sailor Moon.

I used to be obsessed with Sailor Moon, I watched it whenever it was on..and the Japanese version is basically always better than the American version, cause our version usually has all the good stuff cut out

Yeah, when I was about 5 I was actually Sailor Jupiter. She's my favorite because (in the Ebglish version) her name is Lita too.

I need to try to find episodes of Reboot on youtube or something.

I used to love Third Watch when it was on. There's tons of old cartoons I miss watching,
like Thundercats and Transformers. I actually watched an episode of Transformers on
YouTube the other day to see if I still liked it, and I didn't. It's just not the same
when you are older. Only Fools and Horses was a classic show too.

I probably
miss Dark Angel the most, for obvious reasons, but it was also an awesome show.

I watch Dark Angel when they've got it on sci-fi now, and I used to watch it when it was new. It was pretty awesome.
I also miss Tru Calling, because that was a really cool show. And there was this show called Wonder Falls I think, something happened to this girl and she could all of a sudden speak to inanimate objects. So there were a bunch of Niagra Falls souvenirs talking to her

.
And I also wish Firefly would have been better known when it was on the air, that show is so awesome.

I thought Drive was good too. They should have given it more of a chance.
I think Fox expected it to do better then it could. They over hyped it.

Dark Angel was very good, and Jessica Alba if poked with a stick a bunch could actually act back then instead of just looking smokin'
Tru Calling wasn't great, but better than most on the tube and got better as it went on.
And it was called Wonderfalls, and I have the DVD set. Very good buy. Co-created by Bryan Fuller, who has gone on to work on Heroes.
Firefly? Look at FabledJable's Serenity siggy I made. I'm a Browncoat wearing flan with lots of shiny geekdom.

Ooh yes, I do love that sig

And Drive did deserve a better chance. The ratings weren't fantastic but they were good I think. I'm mad that I missed the last two episodes shown on the fourth of July, if they even ended up showing them.

OOoh, if I haven't already said this (I probably already have. I have a way of doing that) I'm really pissed they took The Class off. It even won an award, and it was actually laugh out loud funny (to me at least) and they took it off!

^ Agree. They suck. They cut the shows I like in favor of the "reality" TV. I hate that. Most of the good shows are sacrificed for that....crap. Now, not all of it is, but a lot of it to most of it, I think isn't all that real, or pertaining to reality.
TelekineticRenegade
Jul 22 2007, 10:20 AM
Reality shows suck. You can tell the people are acting, and badly at that.
Example: "OMG you so stole my boyfriend, let's have a bitch fight"
*Much scrabblings* then in the interview. "Like...I dunno what happened...duuuhh...im just so pretty *giggle*"
....
Pretty much anything they play on MTV blows too. I refuse to watch that channel for more than music videos, if they're showing good ones. (Once they were showing Mastodon videos and I thought the world was ending)

Ha only joking.
But yes, "OMG, is Harry back from the dead?!"
....
"Nope, that's his evil twin who killed my grandmother's cousin, who actually turned out to be my sister's niece."
