Basically the opposite of complaining...any highlights to your day?
It was my first day of work today which I was both dreading and excited about, and normally I'm really quiet and reserved, especially for the first day, but I was actually quite social

Hooray for stepping out of the box and having people embrace my presence!

It was my second day at my Summer Placement, and I'm really liking it. I mean I know that my normal job is also in a Pharmacy, but its nice to work with other people (and realising that other shops have issues too hehe!), and the staff are really nice, and the pharmacist is very helpful and I'm learning new stuff which is also good!
My only issue is that my feet are killing me, but on the up point Subway is only down the road so I don't have to walk far for lunch!

good to see a happy thread. i shall pitch in. I actually made a resolution this year to cease whining adn general negativity. I was getting a reputation as a total ass in the office.
Problem is when you make a resolution like that suddenly all these total challenges seem to come up to test your resolve
well i just got contacted on my Myspace by a friend in Miami who i havent seen for like 12 years. So might go over and stay with her for a while. havent been to Miami since 16 years old and Disneyland
it was also my birthday this week.

Overly friendly? The people at my Starbucks' are mean! I got shunned today by one of the Starbucks employees
I'm working at this organization that coordinates arts events in my county. The twelve of us chosen for the job are "photojournalists" and are going around our city taking pictures making a documentary of "a city at work" (or as I describe it, being an amateur stalkerazzi

). The end product is an exhibit. Seems easy but getting good pictures without looking sketchy is a bitch.

I never even have fireworks or anything anymore on Independence Day, it kinda bites. But I look forward to it, sorta kinda, because pretty much every year it rains here on the fourth of July. It's very cool.
And also, there's been a peacock from somewhere strutting about our neighborhood. He was at my house yesterday morning, then I was talking to one of my friends who lives about 9 blocks (maybe more, dunno) away, and she said that the peacock was on her neighbor's roof, and that she named him Lester. And then later on he was on MY roof.
So now I've decided to write about the fantastic adventures of Lester the Peacock.

Yeah, I'm not that into fireworks either. I missed the annual fireworks at my high school this year, but I don't care too much, even though it would've made for some
great pictures. Only the last two five minutes are worth watching of a whole half hour display. It gets old really fast.

It's just the score from the movie, by David Newman. All the sad music and the jaunty awesome music that's a combination of all different types of music and culture. It's really good, if you like that sort of thing.
And Serenity is definitely my favorite movie.

Snap at the excitement! We are going to see the movie on Saturday, the 9pm showing, cause then hopefully there is less chance of it being full of little kiddies!
I'll get the book that morning, my mate is getting it at an midnight release party I believe and reading it on the train down to see me lol. I have given her strict instructions not to tell me anything that she has read if I haven't started reading it by the time we meet!

I'm addicted to them also. I have a pair of blue high tops that go from dark to light blue (I've drawn all over them, they're sexy) and I have low tops (they didn't come in high tops...damn them!) that have sheep all over them. I used to have blue and green velour high tops but one of the tongues was shorter than the other and always slid down. It was annoying.

Aww, I love little chibis.

They're adorable.
I just finished an AWESOME painting that took a loooong time to finish (I posted in the whine thread that it was stolen once, but obviously I got it back). I am very proud of this one. It's of a marionette that was inspired by Gounod's "Funeral March of a Marionette".
It's kind of hard to explain in detail (as an artist I find it always hard to explain), but listen to that song (particularly the Mannheim Steamroller Halloween version) and those with intense imaginations can visualize it.

I love listening to songs and imagining things that could go with them. Once I was listening to something and thought of mutant aligator people rising from the depths of a swamp.
