Alright, some of the self imposed 9th exiles probably know this one. But if you haven't been to 9th then listen and listen up good.

Back at 9th we had a sorta Heroes/Harry Potter cross over RP called Heroes High. I tofllowed a group of High school aged Highly Evolved teenagers around their day to day lives at a school for people like them. Some of them fell in love, some of them decided to turn on their friends, and some decided to destroy the school altogether. It was widely known as probably one of the most popular (if not the most popular) RPG game on 9th until it died a coupla weeks ago. But I digress.

This is the story of the kids of the original group who went to that school. The sons and daughters of couples like Nathan and Katie and Jay and June.

SEI's (Self imposed Exiles aka former 9th members) try and play the kids of your original characters couple

Non Ex-9ths there were over 1000 students at the school at any one time so just jump in whenever you get the urge too and we'll fill you in.

Everyone clear? Good, cause here's the setting and rules

The setting is St Lucius College for the Highly Evolved, its a school in Sydney, and yes before you ask I am talking about THE Sydney in Australia. This does mean we'll be around Sydney. The reason I didn't use Veritas was because I was thinking it was getting old and stale.

Michael Koehler is the principal, and has retired from the AIA, but still does keep in touch with his old employers.

Its set in 2035, so 20 years after the first game which is 10 years after the heroes series in which Sylar was the bomb.

Any other questions, plz PM me. I don't bite, I promise.

Rules:

1. Have fun
2. No pulling out of character
3. No killing other characters
4. Please sort fights etc out in PM
5. Gm's (Me and Firefrost) have Final say
6. No God modding
7. No stealing characters from the show (so no mini sylar, mini pete etc.)
8. Rules are subject to change at a moments notice.

Alrighty, have fun and away we go! I'll be playing but my characters will come later.

Liar. Nate totally bites people for no reason. happy.gif

Anyway, since it is HH...

Character Name- Noir Flettcher
Gender-Male
Age-17
Power-...SPLITSIGHT! To explain-
Noir's right eye does not function like that of normal humans. While his left exhibits all of the properties of what we know as "regular" eyesight, his right possesses an uncanny power that he has dubbed Splitsight. By concentrating on the mental image of any person Noir knows to exist, he can see through his right eye as they currently see through theirs. He also has limited access to their surface thoughts while this is in effect. While seemingly powerful, keeping the effect up for extended periods of time will give him a headache. The longer the effect is maintained, the more severe the headache. It never, however, gets worse than a 24 hour splitting migraine, and can't cause any severe lasting damage. His eye glows a beautiful yellow while the power is in effect, but for stealth he has learned to use his power with his eye looking normal, but sacrificing power for stealth.
Current Location-The skool, fool.
Home-San Fransisco. His parents sent him to the skool for his education, and help controlling his power.
Physical Description-Kinda sickly lookin', jet black emo hair covers brown eyes and a slightly zitted face. Overall, he's a looker, but not drop dead gorgeous.
Personality-Kind and caring to friends, but his deep seated personal, psychological and emotional problems cause them grief. Very much an intellectual and bookworm, a polymath.
History-The son of Gideon Duchan and Ryan Houston from Veritas, he was adopted from The Flettchers, long time neighbors of the two men. Going through the typical teenage stuff(considering how a lot of us around here are teens, you know what I mean), including hiding his sexuality(bi) from almost everyone minus his close friends. This causes some significant emotional drama trauma.

More to be revealed later, of course!
Jerub-baal
Hey Nate, let's see if this is a good sheet-

Character Name- Katie Trolatoski
Gender-Female
Age-16
Power-Microbeiokinesis(biokinesis, the control over living organisms, limited to only microbes)
Current Location-Canton, Ohio
Home-A small Victorian in Canton, Ohio.
Physical Description-Vixen might be the best word...long raven hair that tickles her shoulders, pert breasts that compliment a curvacious form, though a bit lacking in the bum department, and freckle faced a bit with zits- oh, she knows that! Her features can best be described as Russian Jewish, reminding one a bit of Regina Spektor, but with more of a traditional type of modern beauty mixed in.
Personality-Cruel and manipulative, but wounded and insecure with big self-esteem issues. Not adverse to killing if it is in self defense or for a good cause...but what is a good cause to Katie might seem like pure cold blooded murder to others. Once you understand her and what she has gone through, how she thinks, you feel for the girl, but until then, unless you are part of her tight circle of friends from the Fight Club she runs, she's the "psycho ***** S&M torturess"
She would note that it is technically BDSM...and that her reputation quite proceeds her.
History-Her parents are...not there for her. That's all I'll say. She was placed in the school by her controlling aunt Maude. Learned of her power at 5, in an incident with stomach bacteria where she healed her ailing dog Tsar. Not the best student, but gets good grades and knows more than she lets on, especially about the fields involving her ability- biology, life sciences, that sort of stuff. More is...to be revealed of course!
FireFrost
Character Name- Josh Lennox
Gender- male
Age- 17
Power- Flight
Current Location- The school
Home- Houston, Texas
Physical Description- Looks like he sould be on a swimming team, short brown hair, blue eyes.
Personality- Kind and loving to all those close to him, but is shy about talking to people and can keep a few secrets.
History- Doesn't remember much from his early years. Josh and his family moved from England to America when he was 6. He was a friendly and caring kid, even when others pushed him around. Tried to maintain a social life after he found out he could fly, but when his parents found out, they were semi-okay with it. However they sent him to the school in sydney. Another thing that bugs him is the fact he is gay, but he fears what others will do to him if they find out, so he keeps his homosexuality a secret.
TheSpoonOfTokyo
Name: Elhana Victoria Wolfe
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Power: Substance Embodyment (Material Mimicry): Copying anything that is touching her. Eg. Becomes diamond if holding diamond.
Current Location: The School
Home: Alamosa, Colorado
Physical Description: A real mountain fox! Tall and well-shapen. Her hair is ash grey, straight, and ends at the base of the shoulder blades. Emerald green eyes compliment her fair complection.
Personality: A bit of a rough tumbler. Always thought of herself as 'one of the guys'. Very active and socially sound. Kind and gentle to close friends. Extremely bright and intuitive. Inhereted a wise and thoughtful attitude from her mother's side of the family. Has a very long fuse, it takes alot to get her angry.

(Hey Necro, would it be all right if some of the 9thers [like most of the people here] could bring in some of our old characters as teachers?)

Ok, lets go.

Ezekiel sat in Spanish class, not paying attention. He sighed and flipped his hair to the right side of his face. He sighed and cintinued writing a list odf word, for quick use. He glared at the clock, wishing it would tick faster. This day felt long enough.
Jerub-baal
First post for Noir. First post for my little microbiokinetic later.

Unveiling-

Noir Flettcher stood outside his new dwellings. Saint Lucious. He stifled a wry chuckle at it all. Most schools were named after really stupid people, and this one didn't even exist! A mythical king of the Britons. Where was the Rauol Wallenberg school for enhanced humans? He grunted at this and continued on. No one else would complain, but no one would go through the volumes of Saints. He was not one to dismiss folklore, it had its point- parables and such to teach moral lessons to the simpletons in the pews. Well, **** you if you think he's a cynic! There's a difference between cynicism and apathy. Apathy is for the weak. There's a difference between cynicism and perception- for perception is truth and knowing reality is the only way to change it for the better.

Dad would say that stuff. Well, Dad Gideon. He took more from him.

And Lucius died anyway, without a heir, and that set off a conflict between the Britons and Roman power. God, guy needed to get laid.

Noir watched outside the school, seeing a few walking around. Most were in class. Taking a look around he smiled at the fortunate placing of St Lucius, right near the majestic Sydney Opera house, which despite a terrorist attack by Islamic radicals using a shape shifter, was looking pretty nice minus repairs. Sydney had been on edge for a while after that. Specials were the new weapons...and people just had to deal with it. Noir was taken out of his school for his views on such things. He remembered a class, Ms. Barnby, social studies. Speaking about the last 20 or so years. Eventually the topic came to current events and Noir leaned over his desk, hand above raised.

About 5 minutes later they kicked him out. He smiled and spoke calmly.

"We are here, you'll have to get used to us, and live with us." He said. They moved to San Francisco from Cleveland soon after that, a much more tolerant area in many ways. As his power became more apparent, and he saw through the eyes of...the wrong type of people, he thought of cutting out his eyes to spare the pain of seeing murder after murder, rape after rape. That changed the first time Gideon laid in a flaming fist into the face of David Denby, neighborhood peeping Tom and secretly serial killer.

"You can do great things with this gift, son." Ryan had said. And Noir found himself setting out for his new school.

Noir looked over the school, rather high maintenance, wonderful brick work done on the walls outside, the glass on the windows reflecting the hot Sydney sun back and catching the light off of the trees that were sporadically placed around the school.

Seemed decent enough.

He entered the school and got ready for orientation. A kindly stout woman- the receptionist Mrs. Kale, pinned a name tag to his loose black semi-dress shirt. Noir Flettcher. He liked Duchan-Houston better, but Dad and Dad had insisted as a tribute to those good folks. Whatev. He walked through the halls, noting the hustle and bustle of the place, full of people, some demonstrating powers on the first day- one kid who could turn into a bear turned out to not be frightening, but a jovial Russian teen. He'd stay and chat...well, not really, anti-social and all, but he had a place to go.

A knock came upon the hard wood door of an office, and the door knob turned as the door swung open.

"Hello, I'm Michael Koehler, Principal of St.Lucius."

"I'm Noir Flettcher. Guess you've met my Dads?"

"Yeah, a bit- over the years we all kind of stayed in contact. You come from good stock. We are quite happy to have you here, Noir. Let me tell you about the school."
FabledJables
The bell rung. Ezekiel smiled. He grabbed his books and jogged to his locker. He stopped. He had forgot. He was supposed to show a new kid around. He threw his books in the locker and ran to the principals office. He stopped in the outer office. He hoped he wasn't late. He knocked lightly on the door, and hope he wasn't as slow as he thought.
Jerub-baal
Occult-

After his talk with the Principal, a knock came about his ears. Noir opened the door with all the enthusiasm of a dead donkey, as the only relatively interesting people he had heard about were teachers, and the most interesting- Koehler, had not lived up to his expectations. The guy was fascinating, for sure, he'd lived through a lot, but he had to go and blab and make salient points about the school and give advice Noir would forget within three days. He didn't forget something about a shadow to show him around- which came to a funny little confusion where Noir looked around the room for a hiding Umbrakinetic. Noir was a bit eccentric.

A light rap upon the entry to the office, it was. Noir opened the door for the next person to talk with the Principal and saw a kid about his age, with a nice angle on the chin, good bone structure, messy black hair that was brushed out of the way at times but reverted back to almost a veil, and blue eyes that Noir was quite fond of. Noir had his hands in his pockets, and quickly sunk a nail through the inside of his pocket and into his skin lightly, reminding himself to not fall for any guys here. Hopefully there were some nice girls...

"I'm Zeke. I'll be showing you around today."

"I'm Noir. So, obligatory question time-what's your freaky power?"

"Oh, well, all the girls say I'm just magick."

Noir chuckled and put out his hand.

"Can I have that dictionary for a moment?" He queried, and Zeke handed it over.

Noir began to pour through the heavy tome, "Van, Vase,- wait, where's what I'm looking for?"

"What word?"

"Vague. I think your picture is in there. Come on, let's get on with this."
FabledJables
Zeke led the way out of the Principal's office. The new kind was nice. And good looking, but he had better keep that to himself.

"Well, I could show you around your classes one by one, but that wouldn't take long enough. So, we will sit in on a few classes. Waste time till lunch where you can meet my friends, ok?"

Zeke first led them to Noir's locker.

"So, what do you do, exactly?"
Jerub-baal
Noir paid attention for once, though a lot of it was on the boy. He heard the plan and said-
"Ok, sounds good."

He leaned against his locker casually, and slowly slumped down it to a sitting position.

"So what do I do, exactly? I call it splitsight. I'll show you the split part first."

Noir watched people crossing the halls to get to various classes, and focused on a petite blonde girl with her hair in a ponytail and a tight red blouse. He focused on her...focus. Noir's eye became a bit larger, the pupil moving as he focused like one focuses on a distant object when navigating. At the point of strain on his eyes it slowly began to fill up with an odd yellow glow which overcame the eye, iris and pupil until it was yellow with an eerie whirl and cacophony of colors instead of the brown in his eyes.

He showed for a few seconds and then turned back to Zeke.

"So pretty much you can make your eye go freaky colors? Cool party trick, but-"
"Oh, that's just the signal I'm doing my deeds. Turn around."

Zeke grunted in annoyance, and turned around.

"Don't move your head or anything. Focus on one single object, very small. Something I wouldn't notice and something that you standing in front of me blocks from my view."

Zeke focused harder on this one, and the slow filling of the eye was replaced by it shooting into action. He felt part of himself...detach and rush forward, an incubus, a spirit, and into the right eye of Zeke.

"You are looking at the 3rd pencil to the right on the secretaries desk. Oh, and now you've averted your glance down to the floor, focusing on the tile work."

Zeke turned around.

"You could have just guessed that."

"Oh, sorry. I didn't explain. I also get a...side effect when I go into someone's eyes. I know their surface thought. And thanks. I work hard to keep my appearance up, as you can tell by the hair that hasn't been cut in months. So my power is like telepathy...but spookier, and less powerful. But hey, it's pretty cool."

Noir stood back up and leaned against his locker again.

"What now?"
The Necro
The car pulled up outside the building and its four occupants hopped out; A average height, skinny man with liquid blue eyes and brown hair, A Dark haired green eyed curvacius woman with a tail and a boy and girl who looked like a mismatch between the two. The man pulled his sunglasses up so that he could see the building properly

"Well they finally built this place, took them long eneough" he mused with a clearly evident grin, his wife clung to him and the kids just rolled their eyes

"C'Mon Nathan this isn't the time to be reliving old childhood memories" The woman said, and Nathan turned to her

"Of course Katrina, its about the kids, I do remember that" Nathan said, his blue eyes taking in everything around him, he turned to the kids and the boy and girl looked upo at their father, their eyes drawn into sad puppy dog eyes as they thought of one last attempt to try and sway their parents. Like they always did, Natahn's eyes turned just abhint of grey and the kids got the message: their father was not to be messed with when his fathers eyes turned even a hint of silver. The kids began to run and then they had their collars pulled, their fathers long arms grabbing them and hauling them back

"Julia? Christian? Where are you going without saying goodbye to your parents?"

"But we don't have too say goodbye, its not like we're staying here or-" The Girl, Julia said and then saw the look on her Father's face "We are, aren't we?"

"Oh man" Christian cut in "But we live, like, 3 blocks away"

"3 kilometres away" Nathan said, holding up a finger "Now my reasons are this; You both need to find people your age and you need to have control of your powers, Christian I'm looking at the shadowclones" Christian chuckled

"Now, your uncle Michael is principal, so be good, I don't want you taking down the school piece by piece" Nathan said

"Like your father did once..." Katie cut in, and then covered her hand with her mouth as all the family laughed

"Now have fun, High school with powers si always the best" Nathan said and then hugged both his kids "And stay safe"

"Oh we will Dad" Both the twins said at once "No worries"

"Maybe" Nathan said with a smile as the kids hugged their Mother, and less then a minute later they were gone

"Oh It should be fun" Cjristian said as he played with a piece of shadow roughly the size of a penny, twirling it between his fingers as they walked through the double glass doors to see a whole bunch of other students with special abilities talking

"Oh grow up" Julia snapped and then approached one of the first boys she saw, one that looked like a senior. Cute as well.

"Excuse me, do you know where the dorm rooms are?"
FabledJables
Well, the kid was more interesting then he thought. In more ways the one. He smirked.

"Ya caught that, huh? Well, I guess we got sit in on a class. I offer Tech or French, because computers are fun and....well, French has some pretty..pretty girls in it."

Zeke banged to locker door twice, spun the lock a full circle and opened it.

"There, well anything to drop off?"

Zeke half talked to him and watched the blonde girl turn the cornor and walk away. He sighed. Well, 1 ut of 2 eye candies was good enough.

Then, another girl came into view. He smiled as she approached.

"Yes, I do. I can take you and your..twin, is it...to the, but Noir here will have to tag along. Oh, my bad, names Zeke, nice to meet you...."
The Necro
"Julia" she stuck out her hand, showing off her white teeth "The guy twirling a coin between his fingers is my little brother, or younger twin if you want to be correct: Christian"

"So what gardes you guys in?" she said as they walked, trying to strike up a conversation.
FabledJables
Zeke looked at the twin. Ehh, he was okay, he guessed. Then he turned back to Julia. Her and Noir are what made this school awesome. He pointed his thumb at his chest.

"Me, I am Junior. Noir..well...it is him, so he speaks for himself. So, how about you? What grade and what do you do?"
Jerub-baal
Eyes Have It-

Noir watched Zeke smirk. It took a lot of his enthusiasm away. He was not one for smirking, or smirkers. It conveyed a sort of perceived superiority to others that troubled him.

He too watched the eye candy, though not with the drooling that Zeke did, but out of the corner of his eye and having covered his eye from view by pretending to be looking through his locker, using splitsight to get the best views.

Supers were supposed to save the world.

Noir Flecchet used his Godsent power to get a nice view of bum.

Kids...

He shyly waved at the girl, and simply announced-

"I'm Noir Fletchett."
_____

The girl in front of them sighed, almost annoyed.

"I'm Katie."

She fidgeted a bit, thinking if they were noticing the zits on her face, that little- they said it was little but they just wanted to make her feel better!...mole on her neck, how awful and thin her eyebrows were... but then she stopped.

She had control. They were practically Pavlov's dogs, ready to give the learner a shock.

They also looked like screamers...and she liked screamers.
FabledJables
Zeke watched as Noir did a mental assesment. His years of watching people had made him good at perception. He kept walking, taking the nessescary turns.

"So, where would you like your dorm? I know where the crowded halls are aand then the much more peaceful. Nior still has to pick, so this should be fun."
Jerub-baal
Fast Friends?-
Noir chuckled and started some jokes to keep the mood light-

"So our little institution of learning has a good side of the tracks and bad side of the tracks? Shall I be dodging switchblades soon? I forgot my pepper spray back in San Francisco. Just put me in a place with as few other people as possible- I have a philosophy about them- unless you know they are good and tamed by proper handlers, avoid and if approached, no sudden movements."

_____

Katie smiled. These two would be fun. But to really hook someone in you need to...ugh, become friends with them.

"Switchblades? More like dodging fireballs and mini-black holes at a super school. And San Francisco, the land of the liberals?"

"Yeah, SF."

"Nice place. Though that little tectonic plate incident with the terra kinetic-"

"Yeah, our house was only a few miles out of the shockwave, we got hit bad with the actual earthquakes. But hey, A. that's in the past and B. that's what happens when you live in a geologically active area- risks and rewards. Rewards were SF is pretty awesome. Missing it already actually."

Katie gave a devilish smile-

"And I have a philosophy...about philosophy. Lots of thinking, little action. My philosophy is I avoid it like the plague or something else equally horrifying- like the Principal."

Zeke and Noir gave her a look.

"Ah, ya don't know about it? He used to work as a spy. Hardcore, ice water veins type. Thou shalt not mess with him, and that's bad because messing is...like...my thing!"

The group shared a chuckle as they continued along.
FanofFiction
Ok, here's my new persona. And by the way, New place=Awesome!.

Name- Leonardo Portmanduex (just Leo for short)

Age-16

PD- Leo has sharp fetures which reveal his Italian roots. He has brown hair and brown eyes. And if anyone thinks Fabio I'll smack you over the head with your computer.

Power- Omni-liguism. He knows every langaue, from Greek to Japanesse. And even one's like Dog and Tree.

History- He doesn't like to talk about it.
FireFrost
Josh was walking down the hallway fast. He had forgotten where his dorm room was and needed to pick up something. He turned around and looked over his shoulder. He turned his head again and saw two kids standing near him.

He walked over to one of them, younger than him, but cute. Away from home....he felt like hs can finally think it about guys freely.

"Hey, I'm Josh Lennox. I've forgotten where my dorm room was. Do any of you know where i could find out?" Josh asked Noir and Zeke.
Jerub-baal
Noir sized up the new kid. Best not to pull out the whole "read your mind with my crazy eye" thing until needed, so instead he just used his regular perceptiveness. Which doesn't quite work on cute boys, and he had a taste for guys around his age, but a bit older. More wisdom in a shallow pool of wisdom that was his generation, he would muse. A horrible shame, Noir chuckled- having to actually get to know people like others instead of reading their minds or just reading their body language. It was refreshing.

"Noir Flecchet they call me, which is appropriate since...it's my name. I was in the Principals office for a bit- you know, the usual evil supervillany thing got me into trouble again. He has a list of dorm rooms and placements on the secretary's desk outside of the office. I'll show you there."

Noir cursed himself on his less than smooth way of dealing with people he was attracted to, while he and Zeke showed Josh to the secretary's desk.

_____

Katie watched, rolling her tongue around her teeth in boredom. But then a new one! A new toy. Pretty, he was. Good. Defaced beauty was a great passion of hers. He and Noir seemed to be getting along. Great for them. As long as it didn't interfere with her rather…unique plans for the rest of the students, she would abide by whatever trifling and small flings they had.
FabledJables
"Ok, now that we got that out of the way, we need your dorm decisions. East Dorm wing is closer to the classes, so it is packed. West Dorm is also close to classes so, it is less than East, still packed. North Wing is nearly deserted, it is long walks and new kids don't usually go there. The older ones are at usually East and West Wings, keeping track of the kids there. So, where do you wanna go?

Zeke leaned on the lockers in front of the office. He thought the new people were pretty cool. And some pretty. He thought of other things, just in case of Noir. He looked from face to face, sizing them a little.
FireFrost
Josh walked next to Noir as they went toward the office. He turned and smiled at Noir. He was cute. Because of the way his parents were, Josh had to be careful about he feelings for guys. Thank god he was out of the country. The guys here in Australia were hot anyway. He wanted to speak to this kid...but didnt know what to say. He smiled at him once again.

"So...i think since we are gonna be classmates...we should say a little something about ourselves. You start." Josh said, smiling.
Jerub-baal
Noir thought for a bit. Go with something small.

"I'm a geek. I can tell you the atomic weight of Osmium, all about Thrace and the Roman Empire, fix your computer and make you a sammich all in one day. Multitalented they say. I have no clue who "they" are though, so that's slightly problematic."

_____

"I'm Katie. I think I might be one of those insane people..." Katie trailed off, inside gleeful as she watched the reaction. To toy. Then she took on a serious face-

"C'mon, I was joking. Anyhoo, let me think. Nah, I'm boring."

"Everyone's got something interesting." said Noir, urging her on.

"Fine. Oh, I haven't told you my power. You'll like this one, Noir. I can control microbes like biokinetics can control larger organisms. Cut the science talk it means I have a nice ability, only kinda mini."

Katie and Noir looked at Josh and Zeke, waiting for their answers.
FabledJables
Sorry, for absent posting. Forgot my post etiquite.
FabledJables
Zeke looked at them.

"Umm....I am Zeke, well Ezekiel, but Zeke for short. I....know a lot and..err...lug a dictionary around to test my powers. Well, thats me."

He looked at the group. Waited for the rest of the answers. Tried to keep his mind off of things that he didn't Noir to know, so he judged what others were thinking by their faces.
Jerub-baal
Ugh. Why did the cute ones always have to be so socially crippled? Noir thought thusly, then quickly remembered he was not so great with that particular skill either. Plus, Zeke was hiding something. You get to tell with that kind of ability- Noir remembered more than a few people wearing gloves around his Dad, who was a psychometric. They were more afraid of Gideon then they were his other Dad, who could launch a giant fireball at someone's head with a thought. People are odd like that, but...we are the sum of our experiences, our memories, our thoughts and people like Gideon and Noir were able to see those. He kept from using his power except for vigorous training his Dads had put him on, because Noir would feel like a peeping tom of the mind. Though now that he was in a school with everyone using abilities, he felt the playing field was a bit leveled- though that wasn't much of a justification to Noir...

He looked into Zeke's eyes for a bit, as they were glancing away at Katie. Simple, base physical attraction based on symmetrical features and pheromones, biology told him, and he agreed. Noir wasn't a romantic. But then he caught something in Zeke's eyes- he was trying to read people. Hehe. Faces are about the worst way to read someone. Eyes, body movement, tone and pitch of voice- all much better.

Amateur.

_____
|
Katie watched the socially unable Zeke stumble barely through a sentence when asked about himself, but about anything else he had been pretty decent. Huh, a person who doesn't like to blab all about themselves? Weird to the major.
FabledJables
Zeke shuffled his feet.

"So, on a lighter note, you guys do need dorms. Lunch is next period, two more classes, then down time in the dorms before lights out."

Zeke then hefted his dictionary, stuck it in his messenger bag he was thankful he could carry around.

"Or, we could head to lunch, chill, eat, and worry later?"

Zeke shrugged his shoulders. He was just a guide here.
Jerub-baal
Noir thought for a bit and weighed in.

"Well, take things when they come. Let's chow. Hope the food here is better than the usual stuff..." He trailed off, the crowded hallway offering much in the way of eye candy.

_____

Katie held her tongue. A school of superpowered teenagers, hormones running crazy, and not one fight yet. For shame! She was dyin' to see someone get a fireball to the gut or something cool like that, man. She thought for a minute-

"Does the caf have...cheezy pretzelz?" She asked, her voice growing excited on the last two words.

She looooved cheezy pretzlez.
FanofFiction
Leo noticed the nice looking girl in front of him in line. She seemed like a nice girl, and it seemed like she wanted some pretzel's.

"_ αυτός είμαι ένας ντροπή, αλλά αυτός όχι. Το όνομά μου είναι Leo."

He noticed his mistake and luaghed. Then he said, not in greek like just before but now in spanish.

"Es una vergüenza, pero no . Mi nombre es Leo."

He held up his finger and finally said in english.

"It is a shame, but they do not. My name is Leo."
FireFrost
Josh nodded his head at the idea. He was hungry anyway and wanted to get to know this Noir kid. He followed them to the cafeteria and looked around. Not many kids here...thank god. Josh wasnt much of a people person, but he felt like he needed to talk Noir. He felt like he had to talk to all the cute guys he met and hoped one of them was...gay.

"So, i wonder what they have here to eat here..." Josh thought. He looked around and saw a table toward the corner of the room. They walked over to it and sat down, Josh sitting next to Noir. He looks cute in this light, Josh thought....but take this slow...dont be like with Vincent....

Katie had to stifle a chuckle. This was too good. So quickly a boy trying to impress her. Play along.

"No hablo Espanola, and it's all Greek to me. My name is Katie. Yes, it is quite a shame. I think Stalin said something like- "the not having of one cheezy pretzelz is a tragedy, the not having of is a statistic, because it has numbers and junk." Did you know, he was very fond of ending his sentences with "and junk"?"

____

Noir shifted uncomfortably in the hardbacked steel chair that he sat in and leaned over, looking Josh in the seeing-things.

"So...the unasked question, the unsolved mystery, the riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a- dang, they really don't have cheezy pretzelzs. Umm, anyway- what's your variety o' freak?"
FireFrost
Ryan laughed alongside Noir. He shrugged his shoulders.

"I dont have favorites, but i could go for a pizza and a coke....im a little hungry, but not much." Ryan said, looking around the cafeteria, taking in the niceness of the place.

"Yes!" Leo thought to himself. It was very hard to find a nice looking girl who could speak a couple of the langues he could.

"I had no idea. You know, if I was him, I would have fired the person who wrote that speech. But hey, at least the school has my favorite dessert. Butterscoch pudding."

Leo grabbed a cup and pointed to a table cluttered with books.

"Would you honer me with your presence at my table."

Noir sat and ate the garbanzo beans he'd gotten- thankfully the caf had a very good selection. Lighten the mood.

"What to eat? The eternal question. You know, I've heard they serve a terrific genetic green bean soup with Sylar salads- now with 20% more brains."

Me and my stupid corny jokes...

_____

Katie took a seat next to Leo, shoving some books off the table to make room for the eatings, and gave a mock curtsy as he pulled out a chair for her. She started right in on a burger, chowin' down.

"Yeah, desert. I'm thinking Moose Tracks ice-cream. Mana from above, I say. I'm also partial to butterscotch, though it is sadly devoid of...well, scotch. At least rum cake doesn't deal in false advertising..."

A yellow cab drove up to the school. A tall figure walked out of the cab and went to the trunk, pulling out a duffel bag. The figure went to the driver's window and pulled out some money, handing it to the cabbie. "Keep the change."

The cab drove off. Elhana was now alone, duffel bag on her shoulder. She looked down to her wrist and gasped. "Oh ****!"

Her hands went immediately into her pockets, scrambling for something. She pulled out a nine volt battery and narrowed her eyes at it. "You better still have some juice in you."

Elhana put the battery to her tongue. There was a small explosion of light and sound, like a bolt of lightning soon followed by the thunder. A streak of yellow rushed throughout the school, whizzing past buildings, down halls, and almost hitting people. The streak went around in random directions, almost confused in nature. "Where is it?! Where is it?!"

WHAM!

Dust rose and some small bits of concrete debris fell. Elhana let her concentration slip, and thusly ran straight into a wall. She stepped back a few paces, walking out of the dust cloud. Elhana coughed a little, and then saw she almost ran into some people who were only a few feet away. A wry smile appeared on her face and she laughed sheepishly. "Sorry bout that, should've been watching the road... By the way, would any of you know where the dormitories are?"

She batted at her hair for a moment, making sure there was not dust or debris in it. Her duffle bag fell to the ground, a few brightly colored bags fell out of it. Elhana noticed this at once and went to the floor in a flash, trying to get the bags back into the duffle bag.

Once she had collected herself, she smiled at them wryly again and opened one of the bags. Her hand went into the bag and pulled something small and orange. Just when she was about to put it into her mouth, she saw everyone was still looking at her. Another little laugh slipped out while she held the bag out a bit. "Uh... cheezy pretzel, anyone?"

Zeke looked at the newcomer. Well, the table was geting cluttered quickly.

"So, join us, we are going to the dorms after lunch. You can tag along, if you want. Names Zeke, this is Noir, Julia and her twin brother, Katie went with Leo and you are...."

Zeke grabbed the bowl of lintel soup(as described by Jerub/Dezzie) and took a sip. He leaned the hard chair back, leaving it resting on two legs.

"Oh, and what do you do?"
Jerub-baal
Noir was in the throes of conversation with Josh, and was only broken out of the verbal sparring and jovial joking to see a girl who looked older than a student...and better than most of the students. She was standing near Katie, and towered over the petite girl.

Dang. Noir liked tall girls, for the most basic of reasons. Well, basic to him. It all made sense in his mind. Relationships- so many people commit the fallacy of thinking they are about control. In a way they are, but like many things, not in the way thought. A good relationship is about two people willing to be completely vulnerable around the other. And tall girls meant there was no potential to intimidate, though shorter girls seemed to pack more of a proverbial punch in that department. No potential to intimidate broke down some barriers.

Oh, and Noir was a great fan of the female leg. And tall girls have...taller legs.

That may have contributed.

He looked her over, those grand curves up and down.

If you grow up with an eye that tends to turn yellow every now and then you might just gather a taste for the odd, to see the beauty in the obtuse and find normal blonde haired blue eyes boring.

Noir was this way, as his eyes traced invisible lines up and down the woman's grey hair that gave her a look quite possibly beyond her mortal years.

Then he saw them. His seeing things shot right to them in an intent stare. Those green eyes that sparkled when the light hit them, and outside of it became emeralds on a light complexion.

Damn.

"would any of you know where the dormitories are?"

She's a student.

Noir was completely entranced, to the point of Josh's words becoming only a dull buzz in the hallways of his ears.

______

Katie was politely chatting with Leo, stringing him along when- WHAM!

****!

Katie's general assessment of a person on first glance was one of any predator. Determine if the other is prey.

She studied the new one, slightly befuddled as the woman was. She had her back turned and Katie spent a bit admiring the round and shapely bum, tight in slightly tattered Levis. Then the woman turned and she saw those emerald eyes.

Prey? No...not one like me...something else.

"the dormitories are?"

Wow, they grow up quick nowadays with all the growth hormones in the cows!

"Cheezy pretzel"

Might as well try to make nice.

Katie took a cheezy preztelz and began to munch, a bit of a moan as she muttered with an open mouth-

"These are so good!"

She finished her bit of the pretzel and introduced herself.

"I'm Katie. I'll show you to the dorms."

Josh saw the girl approach the table and saw Noir look up and down her. Noir liked her. ****, Josh thought...Noir must be bisexual. Josh cleared his throat.

"Hey Noir, i was wondering if you already had a dorm....i mean im the only one in mine, so if you wanna join....you're invited." Josh said, smiling. He needed to win Noir over. He felt like he had to.
Jerub-baal
Noir listened as Josh stuttered out an offer he most certainly could refuse, and felt some sympathy. Some. But gorgeous girl trumps sympathy.

Gah. That thought sent a sickly feeling into the depths of his stomach. And in a way so did Josh's demeanor towards him. People were so naive these days, like the problems that had plagued the world back in the early years had just dissapeared. You don't show it so much, keep it a bit hidden unless they ask, then go from there. That was his philosophy.

Still, the sympathy...and a bit of affection, but dorm was a big decision.

He saw that Josh had eyes for him, no splitsight needed for that.

If it was just them, most dormies are out of the dorm a lot, he'd have time alone, and Noir was a pretty solitary person.

Trial basis. He could always switch.

"Yeah, I'll room with ya." He answered Josh simply.
FireFrost
Josh smiled brightly. He hoped this would work out great. He just hoped it didnt go wrong...like with his ex vincent. Take it slowly...dont go too fast...or you'll lose him. Josh couldnt bear to lose those he was attracked to...it had breaken his heart soo many times.

"Ok...We'll stop by the office after we eat, then ill take you to our dorm room." Ryan said, putting on his caring smile.

Ok, I fell like making a new guy.

Name: Malcolm "Mal" Logrim
Age: 16
Power: Decinigrate
Describsion: Long black hair, with red eyes. He is 5' 8 and 156 pounds.
History:Long and complicated.

Mal walked into the lunchroom. He sighed. Where is he? Haven't seen Zeke in any of his classes.
Then he saw his longtime friend. He raised a gloved hand and jogged over to the crowded table.

" Hey, whats with the entourage?"

Mal grabbed a seat and scooted over. He had a slice of pizza and a Dr. Pepper. He smiled at the group and chowed.
-------------------------
Zeke smiled at his friend. He sat and ate without talking. Well, not very friendly. He turned his sights back on Elhana. Wow, nice legs. Wonder if I could bend over to stare without her noticeing? Better not try. But. she was easy on the eyes. Love the hair color, I hope it is natural. He smiled outwardly, hopping Noir wasn't peeping. He looked at her and then to everyone else. Good year for hot kids, he supposed.

"Umm...this is Malcolm."
Jerub-baal
Noir watched as the new one entered. Red eyes like something out of a horror movie. There were some odd looking kids around, mostly because being made out of rock...kinda stood out, as did having elvin features and silver wings. The new one was relatively normal, at least. And relative is absolute. The gloves...eeks, like Rogue in X-Men?

Malcom was his name. That was surprisingly uninformative. Though for politeness sake he'd just ask the intruiging new one some questions, instead of going into his brain with splitsight.

Noir watched Zeke follow Elhana's every move- well, the every move of her hips as she slightly swayed while sitting, tapping her foot on the ground. She was quite wonderful asthetically...

Noir brought his glass of water near him and used a trick of the eye that didn't involve a technicolor show- catching a look at the gorgeous tops of Elhana's breasts.

He wondered if she had a mind to match. That would be too good for truth.

Katie reached over the table and offered Noir a cheezy, he politely declined with a wave of a hand and "thanks but no thanks, Katie."

Katie humphed back in her seat. How could someone not understand the pure and utter joy, the bliss, that was cheezy pretzelz?

At about the same time the question missiles were launched from battleships Katie and Noir.

Noir- "So, Malcom- I'm guessing you're friends with Zeke, right?"
Katie looked at the new girl- "So, where are you hailing from? I'm from outside of this little ex-prison myself."

Ah, to start a conversation...

Malcolm looked, and wiped the pizza off with a napkin.

"Heh, ya, a little. I've known him for a while. So, who you? More importantly, what is your quirk? What makes you worthy of this, place and all?"

Malcolm sighed and downed the rest of his Dr. Pepper.

Zeke shot a look at Mal and looked at Noir. He looked at the glass Hmm..... Zeke scooted is glass, and looked at it. He quickly picked it up and drank a little. Then sat it down in a different spot.
Hairy man teacher legs, ehh Enough for a almostgag reflex He siged and finished his food as well.

Elhana breathed out a deep sigh, she's made an okay impression so far. She turned her head and saw where she hit the wall, there was an outline of her figure imprinted there. She bit her lip and hoped that the janitor wouldn't freak out too much.

Elhana turned to Katie, who just finished the pretzel. "Thanks for that... you can have another if you want." She held out the bag to her. Elhana popped one into her mouth. "I don't think I'd survive the first day of anything without them. And I just arrived here not a few hours ago, thankfully I don't get jet lag. I lived in Alamosa Colorado most of my life, but I think my uncle's cabin in the Rocky's was where I spent most of my days."

Then, her eyes lit up and she turned her head towards Julia and Nathan. She squeeled with delight. "Julia and Christian Koehler?! Don't tell me you've forgotten me. My mother used to baby sit you when your parents were out of town."

Elhana smiled, at least she would know someone here. She looked over to Zeke and gave a half smile, Elhana knew the looks she was getting from him. "Oh, where are my manners. I'm Elhana, but you can call me El for short."

Elhana took a quick glance at Noir, giving him the same half smile. She knew all the looks males had given her. Elhana now looked at the group. "And before any of you try to ask... yes, this is my natural hair color. I get it from my mother's side, same goes for most of my other traits. Now, for what I do... is a bit complicated. If you didn't happen to see me make a fool out of myself a few minutes ago."

She put her hand into a pocket and pulled out a few objects, each almost having nothing to do with each other. A rubber band, a paper clip, a 9-volt battery, and a silver Zeppo lighter. She picked up the 9-volt. "My little mishap is all due to this little thing... and my mistake of not looking where I was going. I can transform my body to match the consistancy of anything that I am in contact with."

Elhana pointed to a chain bracelet on her right wrist, each link a different color. "For example, I could change my own body's consistancy to match one of the metals on my bracelet. Titanium is the most useful one here."

Elhana repositioned herself in her seat. She leaned forward, propped her elbows upright on the table and placed her chin in her hands. "But enough about me, we've only just met and I've almost given you my life story. Let me hear something about all of you."

Noir watched El's demonstration. Intently. Apparently she knew some relatives of the Principal. Noir recognized Julia and Nahan from some old greetings of the Veritas Alumni, friends, families, assorted hangers on...

Natural hair color. Good. Noir couldn't stand shapeshifters and illusionists. If boob jobs were a great lie purpotrated on the male race, shapeshifters were much worse. Though all that kinda...dissolved once Noir would get to know someone, especially once he had access to what they saw and thought. But for now surface was the only thing available, and he contented himself with that.

That half smile. He was not a fan of smiley shiny happy people, but that one did not make him joyful by any means.

Then the explaination.

One word- powerful.

****, don't ever let that girl near the chem lab...or physics lab...or anything sharp or hard. Especially don't let her know that on your trip to the geology museum in SF you got your handy Osmium cored pen...

"I'm Noir. If I showed my ability, it would kind of involving...invading your personal space. Just-hmm, how to explain? You know that guy who always breaths right on you? Like that, but about a million times worse. You all know your recent history, right? I'm like Parkman...on an acid trip. Hey, I didn't ask for it. My eye goes crazy yellow, I can see through yours- remote viewing almost, and I have acess to your surface thoughts like Parkman. It makes quite pretty colors and all, but not exactly the kind of thing you want to demonstrate. All are entitled to their secrets, after all..."

______

Katie watched the demonstration, but more so watched El. She did everything with a combinaton of strong intent and grace that was tantalizing and intruiging. And the half smile was just vonderful! She was thankful that El didn't notice her oogly eyeing her, because Katie was more deficient in talking to girls then in talking to everyone else...if that was even more possible.

"Katie. I control microbes. Again, something you can't really demonstrate but..."

Katie put a cheezy in front of her and put her finger tips on it, scraping off a bit of salt. Slowly it began to mold and rot, turning green and then grey. Katie quickly tossed it into the trash.

"Yeah. One of many fun uses! Anyone taking bio this year perchance?"

Josh watched Noir look at the girl. He didnt even think she was that hot. Apparently...he needed to impress Noir to get his attention. He got a plan.

Josh got out of his chair and looked at a window. Noir looked up at him.

"Hey...what are you doing?" Noir asked.

Josh smiled....like he has a plan.

"Noir...are you afraid of flying glass?" Josh asked.

He began walking toward toward the window...as he got closer his feet lifted off the ground and he flew toward the window.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Josh sat on his back pourch with his boyfriend, Vincent. He had tight abs, muscular arms and almost perfect cheekbones. He sat down as well.

"Well, you said you had some type of ability, like thousands of others....what is it?" Vincent asked.

Josh turned around with a look on his face....a look of concern.

"Wanna see?" Josh asked.

"What the hell...go for it love." Vincent said, smiling.

Josh stood up and looked up into the cloudy sky. He walked into the center of the back yard and closed his eyes.

After a moment...Josh exploded off the ground in a cloud of smoke. A trail of smoke followed him as he disappeared into the clouds.

Vincent stared up into the sky, shocked beyond words. He got up and walked into the backyard, looking at the sky.

"Holy ****." Vincent said.

At that moment, a small fireball decended from the clouds and came hurtling toward Vincent. He gasped and fell to the ground.

Suddenly, the fire disappeared and Josh appeared where the fire was. His cloths had burn holes in them, but Josh was hovering maybe 10 feet off the ground. Vincent looked up at his boyfriend.

"No ****ing way Josh." Vincent said, staring up at him.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Josh flew through the window and out of the school and up into the sky. Glass flew all all over the place. Noir, Zeke and the others ducked as the glass flew over their table. Noir looked up and stared at the broken window, a small, amazed smile growing on his face.

Outside...Josh flew up into the sky, but when he was a few hundred feet above the school...he stopped and looked down. He flew back down and through the window, landing a few feet away from Noir.

"Well, i did ask if you were afraid of flying glass Noir." Ryan said, smiling brightly.
