Hi! Since I didn't saw any pictures of the actress posted here yet (sorry if I might have missed them

),
I thought I'll post some since I know the actress from the movie Raise your Voice already, where she was a talented violin musician. ^^
Here she is:

it just says
While her powers are being kept under wraps, it is understood that Davis' character, Monica, would give up everything to help the people around her.

Sounds ominous - Seems like her power is both a gift, and a curse.

Is she a series regular like Maya? or just a recurring guest star?

It says she will be introduced in episode four.
A new hero (Dana Davis) has the power to replicate any physical motion.

Has anyone read the NE spoliers?
I thought I saw them on this tread, but anyways what I think it means is if she sees someone do a triple back filp, she will be able to do the same thing. I don't know if it's just physical human motion or any kind of motion else.

Physical Motion....
I'm thinking it's like this, you know how they put people in those black suits with white balls all over them to "replicate" motion into a video game? Well maybe she can think up a scenario of physical motion in her mind...such as throwing someone into a wall, and just on her thought alone that person will fly into a wall.

That's more so telekenesis though, moving objects and such...

Let me be a bit more in depth...
She could watch a Bruce Lee movie and replicate his fighting moves...and kick your ass.
She could watch the force of a train, then replicate that physical motion and run thru your ass.

Sep 28 2007, 10:38 PM
I think it's moreso the first one. She could become a black belt by merely watching someone else perform the moves.
I guess you could relate it to the drama technique of emotion memory. Except her power is based in physical movement. She only has to view something in order to replicate the movement. She needs no training.

If you look at the pictures shes a small woman, hell Micha is almost as big as she is. But I bet when she kicks ass she does it like a full grown man.

I think it's more skill based. Yes, a certain amount of force would come with that, but I don't think that her physical strength would increase much.
Basically, she'd be pretty much unbeatable in hand-to-hand combat. And she could quite easily sweep the next olympics in the gymnastics department. That's if she cottons onto what she can do and gets to watching some serious TV!

And when is her first Heroes debut??

think the question to ask is can she mimic anything other than what she sees on TV?
Like can she copy someone just by concentrating on what they're doing? or is it specifically TV and
therefore some kind of electrical signal?

I don't think it's necessarily only television. Anything she sees, she can imitate/replicate it perfectly. Her mind would have to have a lot of memory storage to remember that much detail. Maybe it's like a photographic memory, but in video mode with specific details on how to do whatever she is seeing.

I saw a clip of ''Fight or Flight'' (next week's ep) where she learns to play piano only by watching Micah do it. So it's not just replicating what's on TV.

To put it simple, she can do anything she watches whether its on TV or real life: if she sees jackie chan fighting she would be able to fight just like him

Oct 18 2007, 03:31 PM
To add to that, she not only is able to recreate what she sees, but actually improvise and improve what she has seen. Like that tomato flower on TV, theirs was really simple while hers was more beautiful and like an actual flower. And while they used ropes with the wrestling move, she was able to recreate the move higher above the ground and on a pole instead.
Just my two cents.

Human VCRI was watching episode 4 and noticed that it looked like her eyes were kind of recording what she saw. Maybe shes kind of like a VCR-ish. She can record any type of action that takes place in her view, and then re-enact that action at a later time. Almost like pressing play. Just a thought though.

At first I really wasn't to happy with her character (before I saw the episode) I felt like Heroes was cashing in on Katrina like every other tv show and it kinda hurt, I really hoped they wouldn't stoop to this level.
But then I saw the episode and I love her. TV has painted such a typical Katrina victim stereotype that I hate. Monica tends to complain, but she is strong and is taking care of her family, she isn't acting like a victim. Instead she is trying to improve herself the best she knows how and that may not include staying in NOLA. I do understand what the character is going through (I didn't go to college out of state to help my mom and town recover from Katrina). This is an example of why I love heroes so much, the characters are real.
Plus she seems to be a really kind, positive person who wants to help others, I can't wait to see how she interacts with the others.
One complaint is that did she really have to be from New Orleans? There are so many cities in LA and MS that were devastated, I think people forget that. Plus, it's going to be hard to replicate N.O. in Los Angeles, more like impossible. There's no city like it.

^I think New Orelans because thats the city most people from out of U.S. will know that was affected badly.

In the videos she is able to play the piano along with Micah with one hand, and she didn't notice

The most interesting new cast memeber. She's Echo from New Avengers (the Marvel comic not the TV show). She can see something being done, then replicate it. Cool. If I had that power I'd rent a lot of Japanese films and learn some marshall arts. She could be super heroing in no time.
Would she be able to do what Peter can do? Turn Invisable is she sees it being done? Or if she sees Niki break steal in her bare hands?
Or can so only do what she is physcally capable of?
I like the New Orleans back drop as well, her brother can join Lyle in the list of useless characters who should not appear often, but she and her grandmother are fun characters, gonna watch this story closely.

Exactly what I was wondering. Though her power - Photogenic Reflexes - means she can replicate any physical motion. Where-as turning invisible .. not very physical.
Though I doubt she could do anything beyond her physical strength.
She probably can considering anything is possible on Heroes.
But still.

LOVE her character.

she mainly copies skills (physical actions) and does them better
like the tomato cutting into a rose, is a skill, she did it even better than the one on the TV
the wrestling move (don't know what it is called), is also a skill, she did it on a poll rather than ropes, knocked that robber silly
