HEROES
KINDRED

BOTH IN PAST AND PRESENT, SEVERAL HEROES MAKE SHOCKING DISCOVERIES -- Upon his return to New York, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is unnerved to find an undiscovered Issac Mendez painting that foretells death of someone close to him. Both Claire (Hayden Panettiere) and H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) pursue their own secret personal agendas. Determined to make it to the U.S., Maya (Dania Ramirez) uses her deadly abilities to free Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz) from a Mexican jail. Ando (James Kyson Lee) returns to his job in Japan and makes a happy discovery. Meanwhile, in Japan’s past, just when Hiro (Masi Oka) had written off Kensei (David Anders), his childhood hero surprises him. Niki (Ali Larter) and a lost Hero individually strike shady bargains to reach their goals. Two familiar people with abilities make an unexpected return. Dana Davis, Noah Gray-Cabey, Greg Grunberg, Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto and Milo Ventimiglia also star. Nick D’Agosto, Katie Carr, Ashley Crow, Cristine Rose, Barry Shabaka Henley, Dominic Keating, Holt McCallany, Eriko Tamura, Adair Tishler and Stephen Tobolowsky guest star.

I dont think so ... I didnt really like the first episodes too .. im mean they were good but compared to the rest of the season it was lame and I think its gonna take a while until all the new charakters and storylines are introduced .. that was the same way in season one and it turned out great...
am so excited in a week at this time i already saw the epi ... yeah!!!! so excited seems like a year ago I saw the last NEW one lol

It'll grab momentum...I think I'd prefer an underexciting description than an overly hyped one though.

Hmm true. Recently since Heroes started on the BBC a lot of people i know who claimed they were going to give it a try have had trouble getting past the first episodes. A big cast, unexplained plot loops, no familar faces. Heroes, its hard to believe being a fan, is quite tough to get into if its not your usual mode I think.
Hell even i thought the pilot when i saw teasers of it was gonna suck

I'm excited, just like Season 1, you gotta give it a few episodes to really get going. They have to start things off, get the storylines going.

Ando making a "happy discovery"? Maybe Hiro left him a message from the XVII century, back to the future style.

I think this episode sounds gd. We may find out a lot more about Maya and her power seeing as how she is going to use them intentionally in this episode

yep! Finally we get to see what Maya's power is =P
And the happy discovery for Ando could be a promotion or get to go out with Hiro's sister lol

OMG! Can't wait!!!

I wont diss on anything until I've seen it. The episode sounds fine to me. It seems they are concealing a lot more than what they are leading on. I'm now expecting something very big to happen in this episode.

The unfortunate thing is, last season most viewers gave the show a chance. The first eight episodes ranged from good to awesome. The first few were not of the highest quality as everything was being introduced. After the Homecoming aired, the show really picked up steam. However with this season, people are going to be quick to judge. If it's not of the standard of Homecoming or 5 Years, then expect people to label this season inferior to season one. Which will suck because it could pick up steam and reach the heights of that famous first season.

If this season is to compete with the greatness of season 1, it needs to up the anti now and remain very solid. The show will only get better as the plots unfold. They just need to keep people transfixed in the early stages.

I agree. It really has the potential to continue on and get bigger and more exciting, but right now, people need to be patient! I'm pretty sure they're trying to get new fans as well, and that's just to hard if you plunge straight into the speed of the previous season.

And there's not so much you can tell with an "official description." It's a few words... nothing more, but still I'm actually kind of excited.

This epi sounds good actually. I have high hopes.

i have to say its starting fairly slow, but it should get better pretty quick.

Like episode one of Season 2?

*rolls eyes* I completely agree. Episode 1 and 2 just... sucked. But, the 3rd Episode description seems to be much more interesting. I'm just TIRED of all the freaking Claire. Claire this Claire that, she hogs up 80% of the episodes now, and her character isn't even good. She's so "figured out" by the audience, that none of the other characters get a chance to develop. We know who she is and what she will do. It's turning into a Claire soap opera now. I say, give us more feedback on Nathan or his mother, before showing anymore Claire. They can leave her out of the episodes for 3 weeks and they'd still be sitting fine.

I don't see why everyone is complaining or criticizing the first 2 episodes. In my opinion they were just fine, and everything they are doing kinda moves the plot along. West and Claire... I heard that West is in the Company? If so then that's important to the plot too. While Noah seeks to protect his family and bring down the Company, Claire's new boyfriend may very well be the one to undermine his plans. The Haitian returns, cool, more HRG and Haitian action, hopefully. Hiro in ancient Japan posing as his hero, Takezo Kensei is just very fun to watch, and to see that Kensei can heal too, o.o. And Peter learning how to phase, use telekinesis, and shoot lightning all at one go just seems a bit too... X-menish. Meanwhile Parkman moves the plot along as well with more insights into the "boogeyman". Mohinder, Haitian and HRG team to bring down the company is again, quite cool. Won't be surprised Parkman gets into the heat of things later, or rather he already is, but he's sticking on the federal side... working with the cops so as to obtain info from there. Oh and paintings... more Isaac Mendez prophecy, and we thought we'd seen the end of that. And seems like Bob has more than one power? Based on what I've seen and the rumours I heard that he is actually the boogeyman?

WELL what I mean to say is, give it a chance people, don't be so quick to judge. Its just episode 2. Season 1 rocked, just wait for what happens in Season 2...

P.S. Strange, I thought that Pete losing memory would mean loss of powers(cause Peter himself said that he conjures his powers by remember how those people made him feel... in Season 1 Distractions), apparently his mind doesn't remember the people but his body does. Phase, telekinesis etc all there still.

wink.gif I think this episode sounds great, i just saw the promo for it and i can't wait to watch it. I think the description sounds boring-ish but the trailer looks brilliant. I think the Peter storyline is brilliant (not to mention he looks really fit tongue.gif

Why is there so much naysaying about the first couple of episodes? i will admit they seem impoverished when compared with the totality of the first season but individually there were many eps. in season 1 that were somewhat below par. Chill out, enjoy the ride and hope the writers don't fuck up like last year.

They don't need 55 minutes in two episodes to explain Claire met a guy at school who can fly. They could do that in 10 minutes. Keep the action and suspense on a rolling ball, not an ice cube tray. Thats why everyone loved season 1. We didn't have to wait and give it a chance, it grabbed us and clung onto us.
Noah drops Claire off at school. Later that day a boy sits next to her in lunch and they start talking. He walks her home. Later that night it shows him flying away. Boom, done, 5-10 minuts tops. Show those clips in between other scenes, like catching up with DL, Nikki, Micah, Angela, Peter, Mohinder, or the Hatian!!
Noah and his job, showing off the manager... that was necessary. Claire getting a compound fracture doing a backtuck (YAWN), Claire's car getting stolen... NOT necessary. Not even INTERESTING. It was an excuse to advertise the Rogue and highlight it even more.
All the other scenes you mentioned (which really isn't ANYTHING) were all done in the span of 5 minutes. Why couldn't Claire's scenes be more like that? Hell, Noah is a far more important character and we still could know much more about him. Claire just doesn't really matter at the moment so they shouldn't draw her out.

Me too! I was on the edge of my seat for BOTH those eps... true, the new characters may take a while to get used to... but they've presented such cool new questions! I'm super excited to learn more about the company and what the FRIG happened to Peter in those last 4 months!!! Not to mention how these new characters are connected to the old heroes!
Mpol
I have really enjoyed these first two episodes as well.

MetalMeow you do have a point. Right now, Claire's emotional needs, Peter's presence in Ireland and Hiro being too many years in the past make it seem like the plots won't connect. In Season 1, they were in situations where we know the heroes' plots would intertwine at points. And once we saw Nikki/Jessica meet up in Vegas, we knew these guys were going to have more interaction.

Right now, I don't know where these plots are going. If they can manage to link them all together, then that would be brilliant! But as of now, we have no clue. I only hope the writers haven't bitten off more than what they can chew. They have told us to trust them. I will...for now... and only because Season 1 was so darn brilliant.

The preview for the next episode is very promising. We're seeing Claire possibly discovering her father's plans to bring down the company, Sylar is back, and hopefully they will shed more light on Peter and Nathan (as separate characters as both are on the opposite sides of the world.)

But I will say this, the first two episodes of this season has left me far more intrigued and happier than what the first two of last season did. They were not bad at all but dragged. Now lets get the two new episode scores back up at TV.com. I want them in the 9.0 region.

Yea, I really liked the first 2 episodes, really good how they put it all together, with the killer targeting older generation, nathan a mess, peter losing his memory, I thought it was amazing how they introduced Peter into it, i didnt expect it and for him to lose his memory looks like we will be finding out stories through Peter and his journey to what happened in they 4 months.
Mpol
As of now, this season has huge potential... lets just hope they for fill it/
ncajayon
I believe the stories are doing okay considering thay are just building the season up. smile.gif
shaman
this series has a story arc ground work is being laid for the season.... i do find it interesting that so much time is put on claire... were kind of back to the "save the cheerleader save the world" theme
Jester77
Claire is one of the more popular characters and actually I think one of the only to be in every episode of the series so far. I'm not complaining though since she's my favorite character but her car getting stolen storyline seemed really weird to me
