Full Version: Best episode ever
Got Heroes > Heroes: Episode Discussion > Volume One: Genesis > Chapter 20 - "5 Years Gone"
Chase and Oldlace
Ok, it was Days of Fututes past all over again.

But action, drama and comedy was all in there. I hope now DC have the writes to the comic they set a mini series, or a maxi series or an on going series in this alternative future time line. The stories write themselves.

In a world were they are feared and hated, Future Peter and Future Hiro must team up to unite other heroes and save the world they failed to save five years ago

I agree, this was certainly the best episode ever (well, yet, hope they further better it in vol. 2). The twist with Sylar was amazing, made up for the disappointment of episode 19 in my opinion

by far one of the best episodes of the season totally agree with you they shoudl start a whole series of comics on this .... love how bad ass nathan has become

Five years gone is by far the best episode of season 1. There was so much action. Peter freezing time!!!!!!
Hiro and Peter vs the guards. And the best of all, Sylar vs Peter. I felt that that just those few seconds of them firing up to do battle was better than the entire fight that was "How to stop an exploding man"
Charlie Andrews
I just like the "present time" better. I hate it when all the heroes (major characters) become great and everything. When everyone's great, there's no more story.

And Nathan = Sylar was soo predictable.

I disagree, this could have been the best episode ever. It certainly was the most ambitious episode, but it created a lot of plotholes and really gave away that the writing wasn't solid enough to pull it off.
mikoxiii
it wouldve been better if could see Sylar vs Peter striaght up it would be awesome!
OMR
It was a really nice, creative and ambitious episode....quite essential to the season finale and the paintings,
Keith
That is probably the best chapter in the series in my opinion.

I don't think it went downhill after 5 years gone.
But this episode is deffinitly the Season's best. So it all appears like a downwards spiral.

best episode ever, extremely confusing and makes one ask lots more questions and answers few....like how did Sylar regenerate? Don't get it

I must admit this was prob the best epsiode of the season as we see combat - a war between good and evil you dont really see much action in previous eps but in this one they are taking on everyone using all abilitys - I think its great how Peter comes through the wall and freezes time - coz we havent seen Peter with these abilities and it shows us how powerful he will become - I must admit i didnt see Nathan being Sylar I was shocked when I saw that - but is that the future that will become or would that of changed because of what happened with Nathan and Peter.

I thought it was an amazing episode, even though I got a bit confused at times.

Probably because you haven't watched it enough times to get it. I usually watch every episode twice ( more like 5 times but lol ) and i think that it was really the best episode ( Five years gone ).

Definitely, I just wish every episode could have this one's action sequences.

I just watched this episode again on DVD, and it is still my favorite, even though now it is just a what if alternate timeline since Nathan prevented Peter from blowing up Manhattan. But my biggest question is: what happened to me? tongue.gif

Sylar and Peter should've shown more powers.

The action in this episode was good, loved the effects and made me wonder about what was really going to happen in the future of Heroes.
