The scene in Lizards, where Ricky pulls out the box and shows Peter. Peter goes to grab the box and Ricky puts his hand into the fire place, threatening to burn the contents of it. The Flames are awfully close to Ricky's hand and he's not flinching, (Ricky should have been burnt, or am I reading to far into this?). Does Ricky have the same power as Meredith Gordon?

I re-watched the scene. I don't think Ricky's hand was really that close to get it burnt.

No I think he's just a tough Irish gang leader.
I'm sure sooner or later someone in this story will have a power. Ricky's sister didn't seem to surprised by Peter's ability. She took the whole thing in her stride, either she's cool and laid back or has a secret of her own.
Or another of the Irish gang members used to be on enterprise, but all we've seen him doing is sipping a pint, casting another known star trek actor just to sip a pint....
Someone other than Peter must have a power.
People reckon that every person cast for heroes has a superpower!! This really annoys me, and what annoys me even more, is that the writers just seem to keep creating new characters who have abilities, at first it was a select group, now it's like X-men!!!

The show is about people who have abilities, therefore it stands to reason that significant new characters introduced will either have powers or be consistently involved with people who have powers. I do however find the belief that every person who is on the show somehow has a power can be frustrating at times.

Engineering Chief Miles O'Brian (Colm Meaney) from STNG & DS9 springs to mind lol.

In season one, with the possible future, where the bomb had exploded, they told us already that there were coming more and more people with abilities.
Sooo, Why are you so surprised???

Meredith Gordon?i think if he didn't get burnt when he's really close to the fire, then the ability must be regeneration...ha4....

Reading way far into this. Not everyone on the show should have a power That would be stupid

This scene is weird though, if I ware Peter I'd use telekinetic powers to grab the box and then beat the hell out of that Ricky with every power I could use. Make him beg to be killed, but as usual Peter is too innocent to make someone suffer like this hehe
And I think Peter can't absorb Hiro's power because he hasn't got it, even in the comics where he's helping Hiro to release the other mutants...

This is weird. I didn't think of this!
They were expecting a box full of iPods though... this has to be remembered, lol.

He can't use his telekinetic powers, cause he doesn't remember a thing. At first he didn't even remember that he had powers. So he also doesn't remember wich powers he has.
At the moment he can only use them by accident.

What's weird for me was that their reaction was just "Hey, this guy has powers." And... that's it. It was like nothing that unusual. And their next thought was, "Let's use him". It just seems that they MIGHT have some idea of the existence of "HEROES", but they are not necessarily one of them?
Or I'm thinking too much

Actually, they did kind of question him. But Ricky is so hell bent on getting this money that he told Peter he didn't know what the hell he did, but he had to do it again to help them pull off a heist. Even more so....if Ricky has the box then OBVIOUSLY he knows emore about Peter, than Peter knows about himself. Basically it goes down to this..."Why ask a guy with amnishea questions about himself, that he OBVIOUSLY dosen't know?"

I think the writing was a bit off in this episode too. I thought it was completely illogical that Peter didn't just force the guy to handover the box, or pretend to accept his terms and then blast the guy into the wall or whatever. And what's with the macho gangsters torturing and asking the amnesiac guy about the whereabouts of the Ipods. And Ipods? Sure it's original, but seriously? IPODS? Rather silly storyline so far. But anyways, I don't think Ricky has any powers. He certainly haven't demonstrated any.

They probably thought Peter was pretending to have amnesia.
If I stole 100 something iPods, I'd probably be like "I don't know what you're talking about"
or like "what's an eyepod?"
