During the robbery from the armoured van, how come Peter asks for his '200 Dollars' back when he is obviously in Ireland where the national currency is the Euro?

And does Alejandro understand english, as both him and Maya seemed to understand the prisoner when he said he had a car?

Hmmm...seeing as how Peter is from AMERICA...then of course he would ask for his DOLLARS back.

I'm pretty sure most mexicans know minimal english, rather or not they want to admit it. Infact, I'm SURE they have to know English seeing as how they are reading Chandra Suresh's book. Assuming that it's not translated in Spanish.

Well explained, I definetly agree
xbboyy
umm the book was translated into spanish because if I remember correctly the cover was is Espaņol

I think the characters will be speaking english with a heavy accent or something once they get to America. It seems like they know english (I never noticed the "Espaņol" cover..) - when Alejandro was in prison it looked like he just didn't want to talk to the guy so he said "No English" so he would be left alone, as soon as they get out that guy says "I have a car" and they understand him right away.

There are some people in the world that can't speak a word of English, not even the word "English".

As Alejandro and Maya come from Honduras (I think) there is the likelyhood that they would speak marginal English.

As for Peter asking for his dollars back; he was creating a distraction, i don't think he really would have thought too much about it, as he would have kinda been too busy thinking that he was helping someone rob a lock-box.

talk about your huge american egos, people in mexico do not need to speak english on a daily basis, what do you mean most mexicans must know minimal english. I know mexicans wjo have lived in the US for years and still don't understand a word of English! on top of that, do you even whatch the show (maya and alejandro are not even from Mexico) their origin is still unconfirmed.
Having said that I do think at least Alejandro knows English, because the face he made when he said "no english" to the guy in the cell was more like a "I don't feel like talking to you" kindda face not like he did not know what to say.
Also, in the canadian promo for next episode see here they are talking with sylar...

Did anyone else noticed that Nana Dawson (old lady who will care for Micah from now on) is actually not D.L's mom, may be his grandma or aunt watch this! the woman on that clip is actually DL's mom and no mention of sister either. she lived somewhere near Las vegas in tisi episode of 1st season, but now seems like nana Dawson lives in new orleans... any guesses?
bignas1234
could be D.L's grandma as she does look quite old and supposedly is apart of the elder generation
Kim
I hope the old lady has cool powers

Well, yeah, but not necessarily IN English tongue.gif

"Iie Englishu desu!" <= japanese
minara
I think there is a huge difference between knowing a language and speaking it. I can read French fluently, but I can't speak it. I do know a few phrases in other languages but I would never presume that I 'know' a language.

I can say "No spanish" if I have to. I'm sure that's all Alejandro was doing.

In last night's episode he really seemed like he didn't know what Sylar was talking about, so I think his english is VERY limited. Maya has a bit more knowledge, but perhaps she just has an affinity for languages. Some people do and it has nothing to do with powers biggrin.gif
ClusCo
He looks blur....
robi-wan-kenobi
i still think sylar kills alejandro . tongue.gif i feel it in my brain ... ^^
Drakulux
Well it is an american series I would guess the heroes would all know abit of english. When hiro started out he was only speaking japanese and at a point also said "No English!"
