So this episode reassured that Monica can learn pretty much anything she sees. What I'm wondering is, does this apply to the powers of other Heroes? Or do you think she can only learn things that are going on in the physical world? Thinking about it further (as I'm writing this post), it probably is indeed the latter. Obviously she couldn't learn something that goes on within the mind (i.e. Parkman's mind reading). I guess it could still work on people with powers like Elle or Nathan.

I'm interested in how much of a copy-cat she can be - what her limits are, how powerful she could possibly become.

Her power is "muscle mimicry", which means she can only copy physical movements or skills within her physical limitations. So no, she wouldn't be able to copy someone's powers like Peter or Sylar. Her ability is strictly physical.

yes monica powers is so interesting....i think she is so pwerful..imagine copying what she can see..

I think Peter and Sylar are enough in the "power mimicry" department, but Monica's abilities are just so awesome on their own. She could excell at anything, so long as she sees it.

I'm not sure exactly as to what will happen...

But she's definitely going to become a powerful character, would you agree?

In the comic, she was like pictured as a Ninja.

I agree... however, if she could "copy" other Heroes' powers, then she could potentially be more powerful then Peter. So I doubt she will be able to do anything more than actions/motions/techniques

it'll make it very boring if we have 3 characters with mimicry of abilities. (peter, sylar and monica)

At the beginning I was wondering if it was more like the power of the texan waitress, Charlie. But then yes you can say it's more like doing exactly waht she sees.
I don't think she can copy someone flying(how would you use your muscles to fly???)
Anyway it's interesting enough, I was wondering if we are going to see new powers, I hope the staff has more surprises for us

I thought that too! My whole thing that I was afraid of was them runing out of powers! I kinda still feel thats whats happened wit Maya and Alejandro because we dont even know what the hell that is! Is that even considered a power? What Hero or Villan have u ever seen cry black tears that kill you. Then to make it worse it takes two people to control it. If Alejandro does ever die Maya is going to be

A. Evil and stay with Sylar forever
B. Try and get a cure and not have a power at all

Im sorry there is no practical use for that. In the begining it reminded me of Ted which is what they wanted us to feel for their characters. With Ted though he could find ways to manipulate the raw energy he was shooting out and make it useful besides melting door handles. There is nothing useful about killing everyone around you with black tears that dont go away until someone absorbs it.

I defitenely have to see physical actions mimicry (someone said muscle mimicry the same to me )
She does have boundaries though but that does makes it greater to watch at.

That rocked so hard! But yeah, it has to be physically 'real'...as real as real can be in this show. So no Matrix moves, just things that the body can adapt to. Having said that, does that mean the body can be 'fooled' into thinking that those moves are real...?

And if she watches The World's Strongest Man and sees a 2-tonne dude carrying a 5-tonne boulder will this mean her muscles will 'adapt' and...y'know, become big. Like super big. Monica better stay off the weight-lifting channel, that's all I'll say.

-Peter = Empathic Mimicry (Absorbing contacts after the wielder is in range)
-Sylar = Intuitive Aptitude (can't absorb powers until he sees the particular part of the brain to
adapt to the power)
-Monica = Muscle Mimicry/Photographic Reflexes (Adapts Physical powers after she copy them by
viewing them in action).

There you have the differences. ^^
3 Different ways with different abilities even Sylar manipulates his main ability so he can gain other ones.

Im pretty sure she will only be able to copy physical movement, if she could copy powers it would mean that there would be too many ppl with the ability to use others powers ie sylar and peter, these guys are supposed to be "different" even compared to the other heroes, they are supposed to stand out from the rest of the cast.

Monica's power rocks. Although i find it quite disturbing to see one of our main characters is going to turn into a superhero... Kinda against the idea of the show, where neither the good nor the bad guys get dressed in silly costumes. Ah well, if they make a nice story about it, it's ok...

Now I understand the different Mimicry of powers

i think that she can increase her power also for example she mimic the power of a pro boxer when she copies his punch so the punch would be the same strength and i think that cuz she has increased her flexbility while she was copying the kung fu movie and increased her agility while copying the rope jumping girls.......
so it would be a paradox if she doesn't increase her physical strength as will.....

I think the correct term for Monica's powers is photographic reflexes. Muscle mimicry is also another term but it is a very broad area.

I don't think Monica can copy other powers because she can only perform an action she saw another person doing. We cannot rule out that fact though but I'm pretty sure that Peter is the only one with empathic mimicry.

Her powers are great......

they have a lot of potential... but I think the writers are a bit loose on this power

now... on the last ep. she saw partially what micah was playing and played the rest.... she didn;t witnesed the whole concerto...... that's kind of a oooopps...... that means that if she saw some medicine show segments of a doctor doing a heart operation, she could do it????? just for watching part of it?????

how about if shw saw someone do an elaborate math problem....... would she do it????? now THAT would be a stretch......
