Full Version: whats up with the green light?
Got Heroes > Heroes: Episode Discussion > Volume Two: Generations > Chapter 07 - "Out of Time"
GeneZ
when the 1st commercial starts, the earth spinning and the sunlight(right) was green.
wth is that.. looked freaky but cool. hahaha
FlyingMan
It was for NBC's "green week", to promote recycling, saving energy, and cleaning up the world. That's also why the NBC logo was green during the episode.
matty
i thought it had to do with the story. the old red/orange lighting was to signify the bomb, and the new green one is to signify the virus. i think they should keep it as green...
GeneZ
i actually like it better as green.. looked coool. hahaha
Greyhound
Pretty sure it was just a NBC thing.

Yea, that was also my thoughts, but i do belive, as the other people, that its from the Green Week

Ultimately, I just found it tacky. Sure, NBC is promoting "Green Week." Congrats. Remember, though, we suffered through the corniest cheerleading tryouts ever last week in the name of "Green Week." I'm planning on editing out the green title card on my AVI copy of the episode.

yeh i thought it was the virus aswell when i first saw it becuase i didn't know about Green Week but thanks for the explanation.
liam
at first i thought it was something daft like to show the virus its made everything green lol tongue.gif
comatose
i thought it was something to do with the virus too. but it's kinda funny to change something like that just because it's green week and nbc is promoting it.

like a hardcore punk artist who goes pop just because their major label wants them to do so.

I think that the green around the planet represents the virus, why they have only just started doing it in this episode i am not sure of. Maybe it is because we now know alot more about the virus? Either way i think it looks better lol
Keltor
It was an NBC "Green Week" promo thing, trust me.
However, I agree it looked pretty cool, and fit well enough with the whole "Virus Kills The World" theme of the show. cool.gif
Archis
hmm..but during the promo ..the earth was red!
creepyyyyyyyy....like 28 days later!

righhttt.. saving energy, while the government is producing toxic air and chemtrails all over the world, they TELL US to recycle and save energy, so ironic.

Um...since when is NBC the gov?

Oh, and, while we're on a rant, why on earth does Gore have such a following? He preaches global warming (or the fight thereof), then hops on his carbon-emitting private jet to go wherever.

I could also mention his house, but I'd have to do some googling first wink.gif

Also....why are major car producers not working on a car that runs on french fry grease? It's been done by private individuals at least twice, it wouldn't be too difficult to either get the blueprints or do some simple research, and it would no doubt help in relieving our dependence on gas. Erm, foreign oil....

Alright, I'm done XD back to heroes.

I have to say green is the new thing

Why don't they produce a car that runs on grease?

Because the petrol induxtries are some of the most powerful conglomerates on earth and no company or government would EVER want to upset them by putting them out of business...

Seems we've already attempted this somewhat with Ethanol.

Granted, ethanol is still mostly gas with some corn oil mixed in (I know, a gross simplification of the stuff), but it still (somewhat) reduces our dependence on gas.

The best thing would be a vehicle that runs on Nitrogen -- which we could pull directly out of the atmosphere.

Even the intro to Bionic Woman was green-flashed as well! By the way, I hate the New Bionic series, it sucks...

Anyways, it's just a GREEN WEEK THING that NBC is doing this week like all of you have been saying/asking... Even Sic-Fi and USA networks are doing it, "it's Universal," get it? NBC Universal is going green this week... And it ends on Sunday night, hopefully...

NBC Universal is going Green...
