When Isaac called HRG to tell him about the new painting, he also mentioned Peter being "invisible" and asked how that would be possible.
HRG didn't seem quite as surprised and simply stated that "an old friend must not be quite as dead as he thought..."
So what do you think happened in the past?
What exactly do you think went on between Mr.Bennett and our friend Claude?
BacktoBedlam
I didn't pick up on that actually. That would be my guess though. I wonder if it was when Claude was less able to control his powers. That would be interesting to see what Claude was like when he first got his power.

"An old friend might not be quite as dead as we thought."
Yep, that was a sly reveal. It seems that HRG not only know about, but knows Claude. My guess is that Claude was "tagged" by HRG several years ago. With his invisibility, Claude made it look like he died -- and then simply "vanished".

The bigger question, IMO, is -- Are HRG and Claude on the same side or opponents in the DNA manipulation game?
Hero in Waiting

I think they are definately not on friendly terms...which leads me to believe he may be a "safe" mentor for Peter...

It sounded as if HRG attempted to kill him, and thought he succeded.

Could it be that they were partners and Claude is the effect of an experiment gone wrong? Have we seen him be visible? Not that I can remember. Maybe he can't be visible anymore? I'm rambling, I know but this guy raises a lot of questions in my mind.

Well, we now know what exactly HRG was talking about, since we have learned that they are OLD PALS!
Hero in Waiting
Last time an "old pal" shot me in the chest, we laughed about it, bandaged it up, and went to have a beer. wink.gif

Hmmm....I'm thinking no longer on friendly terms..... just a thought mind you..... cool.gif

I think Claude might have been one of HRG's lab rats. Maybe HRG tricked Claude into thinking that he would help him with his powers, but just ended up using him or something. That probably triggered Claude's I'll-hide-from-the-world-and-be-friends-with-pigeons thing.

I am begining to think more and more that this ORGINAIZATION in which HRG works for (without initials) is using these people's abilities both for THIER gain, and to use against them!!! ohmy.gif

If you watch last weeks episode that will debunk your theory.

Old friend was sly, I think that he's definitely a foe.
Hero in Waiting
Since he has been shot3 times (two with a gun, once with a taser)
...I think it's safe to assume he does not like HRG. ;0
Tim Kring
hmmmmmmm...

So what you are saying is Claude holds a grudge?

Well, my Dad's best friend (Friend of the family for years...), went hunting with me and my Dad, and my two brothers... My dad's best friend shot at a tree, (don't ask me why...) and the bullet ricocheted off of the tree and hit my Daddy in the knee...

Then, the next year, my Dad went to Arkansas to compete in a hunting competition, and his best friend shot him again! THIS TIME IT WAS ON PURPOSE!
I never did know the whole story of the second incident...

They are still friends to this day!
