I have lately been thinking: what if the plague that kills 92% of humanity in the future is not the virus the present storyline is based upon but instead Mayas' power (black tears) gone wild?

We have not seen one dead body in the scenes with peter in the future, only lots of body bags. What if all the dead people had black eyes...?

But the epidemic in the future was called the Shanti virus. And thats almost certaintly the virus.

Btw, it killed 93% of the world's population.

ok..so i know the graphic novels arn't 100% related to the tv sho, but in quarantine, dylan is shown just when the virus manifests it self. and his eyes ae closed, but not bleeding. howver, he has blood coming out of his mouth. also he seems to be coughing. this does'nt fit in with the maya virus that we know at the moment, but it could have evolved. also everyone could think that the future virus was the shanti virus, but they could be mistaken.

i know that the graphic novels do give hints to die hard fans.......
