Full Version: Why did Bob need to kidnap Claire?

I mean, that is all he really wants right? He doesn't want to do any crazy experiments on her, he doesn't want to "cure" her.

All he had to do was to ask. Okay maybe it is not going to be that simple, but he could have faked a blood donor drive at the school and gotten her blood that way. Instead, he had to create this elaborate kidnapping which ended up badly.

i dont think claire wouldve let him take some of her blood..
even if he asked nicely..
shes not that dumb you know!
Raekon
She might had done it but I don't think so because she would be rather scared to go together with someone from the company.

Well of course there would be the desire to test it, just as he supposedly did to Elle. Although, having a hostage would be useful to stop Noah.

I thought he wantred to bring Claire back to the company at first? If it wasn't for Noah capturing Elle he wouldn't have let Claire go that easily.

i believe you're right

In fact didn't he mention something about her being a good addition to the team? Perhaps he's even hoping to indoctrinate her (as Noah puts it) and make her a Company agent. Something which I think may very well happen if you see the episode preview clips for the next episode. Well not an agent, but perhaps just helping out the Company.

I always thought he wanted to test her. Anyway I wonder if the family (without HRG) are going to run and move away now. The Company knows where they are, after all.

I thought the blood donation drive thing was funny!! But she wouldn't go donate blood for fear of being discovered I suppose. Why didn't Bob run after her when she ran away the first time? Is he that old and weak, not to be able to catch up with a teenager??

Or maybe he didn't want any problems with the school... Yeah. I answered my own question.

Yes, I think she is helping out the Company out of undue circumstances. Bob may have told her that her father is still alive and if you want to save him, you have to help us (ie the Company) do a few things first.

That's an offer no daughter can refuse.

i believe he wanted to make her an addition to the company not to experiment on her, she would be a good asset to the company

You are probably right... they already have (had) an indestructible person in their keep... but he's gone renegade so they probably want to replace him...

I think he wanted Claire's blood to save niki......but now he's using it to cure noah.....
Archis
maybe there's enough to save both,,..
i dont want niki or noah dead!

Niki has the virus, the blood that would regenerate cells wouldn't help, would it?

I didn't think so. Cellular regeneration is extracellular - rebuilding what's lost. If the virus weakened the immune system so that some common ailment could kill the host, that'd be something regeneration could cure. But we don't know exactly why the virus kills, just that it does.

Viruses often implant their DNA into a host cell. I'm assuming the powers stop working when this happens. Cellular regeneration in itself doesn't look like it would be able to do anything about this intracellular phenomenon... I originally speculated that Bob wanted Claire so that he could develop a virus against which Adam wouldn't be immune.

However Adam is now able to stop himself from aging. From what little we understand of aging, that's intracellular too. So Adam's ability might very well be able to destroy the virus even after it infects his cells.

Heroes science confuses me =p

Real science doesn't appear to be lost on you, though! tongue.gif
