But why the 400 years. When the freak did Adam stop aging? I think he's been aware of his power long before hiro arrived..just how old is he?

Although all that also confuses me, I just want to know how the heck a guy who can live forever could be more dangerous than a bomb.

Even if he went on killing sprees, he's not invincible in the sense that he could still be locked away.

I'm guessing hes in his early 30s, but it's obvious he only stopped at that age because they cant go changing actors.

In one of the preview pics for ep 11 he's seen in a nice suit with his samurai sword sitting comfortably on his waist.....

now 400 years of training
+ wisdom
+ invincible
+ knowledge

Think About it...

Nuke Him, Burn Him, Freeze Him, Break Him, Cut Him In 2...

He'll Still stand up and chop you up even if it takes 100 more years

Outlives you, he wins...

No one can beat him

Locking him up is the only weakness smile.gif, but it doesnt mean he loses, that planned has failed once.

its not really 400 years EXACTLY, how lucky is that?
and adam was not born in 1671, hes already 20 - 30 yrs old at that time!
they're just saying 400 yrs because hes been around for 4 centuries
why the hell would he be saying his exact age, its not important.

Don't forget that Heroes tend to have a particular achillies heel...

A wound to the back of the head kills them.

Mmm...."suspends" them ;) remove the obstruction and, voila, they're back. Again.

Of course, would their body decay while they're suspended?
Is there a time limit on being suspended?
etc, etc.

well, you can always bury him alive.

When Hiro met him, Adam (Kensei) was about 30-40.

So say he was born in 1671-35=1636.

2007-1636 = 372.

You would round that up to 400 years old. No one is going to go around saying "you're pretty young for a three hundred and seventy two year old man." Saying four hundred is wayy easier.

yeah, let's not hurt ourselves in analyzing too much his exact age... counting up to 400 can be really painful laugh.gif
Maldito Ninja
Takezo Kensei's date of birth is 1584, that's what the legend says.

well if the legend holds true NOW we have something to speculate. Thank You. Assuming this, we can no go back to my original question. When did he stop aging and how was he not aware of this prior to meeting hiro?

some people just look good for their age, maybe he thought his diet was keeping him young and healthy or worshipping a god or something was helping him. remember britain in the 1600s was deeply religious and he may have thought he was being blessed.
then again it might just be a plot device to link him into the story by hating his mentor wink.gif

Wow, 1584, huh?

That means he was 90ish when he met Hiro? That doesn't make sense.

Well he ws a drunkard and full of himself back then, perhaps he thought he doesn't age that fast. He manifested when he was in his 30's, so he stopped aging then. And one poster commented that in the 16th century, they are very religious, he might've thought he was blessed or the other way around, maybe he thought he's under a spell or something, like witch craft. They were so into those things those days.
GeneZ
1584 huh? hmm.. but why did kaito say that 1671 was the time of takezo kensei ,

That would be when the Trials of Takezo Kensei took place. Regardless of his age wink.gif
GeneZ
oh. ur right, forgot that . lol.
DeJaY2k8
so he was 87 when he took down all the people lololol
Vorenus
I wonder what would happen if you took his head off?
minara
His age is such a major plothole.

If he was 87 when the trials took place, and he apparently had no knowledge of his ability to regenerate prior to meeting Hiro, how on EARTH could he not notice he didn't look like most, if not all, 87 year old men??

Of course, people will always use the excuse that the writers planned it that way... that he did, in face know of his ability but lied to Hiro.... that's the crappy thing about this show... any plotholes or poor writing can be 'manipulated' into being plot devices. dry.gif

The legend says 1584, but Heroes never did, so hardly a continuity error within the show?
Anyway, maybe the legend was wrong.

But wait... maybe it's just NOT THAT IMPORTANT?

Yeah, except he is in Japan. We don't know how long he was in Japan for and if his mum and dad were British and had him in Japan and just left him.

Agreed. That is a LEGEND after all. And in that Legend there were gigantic black bears guarding scrolls, and Hiro as a cat(was it a cat?) and stuff like that. So the date given by the Legend is also questionable.
