Full Version: Parkman's growing ability....
Got Heroes > Heroes: Episode Discussion > Volume Two: Generations > Chapter 09 - "Cautionary Tales"
middleweight
in this episode you see him being able to do a lot more!!.......
but in that episode last season that was 5 years ahead, he could still only read minds!!
whats going on? or was it just a mistake by the writers?
FallenAngel
Probably just a mistake. They most likely hadn't thought of expanding his mental abilities that much, so in Five Years Gone, its justa minor enhancement to his mind-reading powers.

I think his latent advanced mental powers were unlocked when he was fighting against maury's nightmare and again when he trapped maury.

Think of it as the same as exercise, you must push your muscle past a certain threshhold to actually gain any strength.

In 5 years time the bomb had gone off and destroyed New York...

Perhaps tht change of senario meant that Parkman never met his Dad,
never met up with Angela, and never discovered his increased abilities...

I also think that after meeting his dad it pushed him to beat his dads nightmares etc, so yeah go go go parkman
Luk3
Yeah because if he didn't stop the bomb then his father could have died, meaning he never actually met him and new about his powers true ability.

Apologies...

I've re-read the title of this thread and realise that Parkman has an ability that no-one has spoken of yet...

The ability to grow into a very tall man...

Personally, i'm fairly certain it was just a writing thing. They hadn't thought up expanding Matt's powers, so they showed him in the future with his normal abilities.

But because of the fluidity of the future, it would be easy for the writers (or us) to explain it away as a changed event.

I completely agree with you
Rodders
actually...
in the future, his powers were more advanced. he search hiro's mind for the information he needed instead of just listning to surface thoughts.

fire years gone didnt have much story of the elders. if i'm not mistaken none appeared in that episode. matt only got to know he's capable of that through bob. so if daddy didnt turn out to be bad and matt didnt meet bob, he wouldnt know he's capable of putting thoughts into the heads. but he looks more powerful know. i wonder if peter is able to enhance and be able to do the same. but peter is waaaay tooo powerful.
