Full Version: Peter uses Charles' power again this episode?

Timewalker

When he is viewing the 2008 quarantine scene from another place, and can witness but not interact.... This is that same power used in the season 1 finale isn't it? It is from Charles Devroux (sp).
SleepingPhoenix
interesting...i never thought of that
CoffeeDiva
I just thought he was hallucinating, or day dreaming, but that definitely seems plausible
ossie000
But he had the evacuation thingy, right? I guess he just timetravelled and accidently turned invisible.
Machy07
neither did i lol u could be right
Rodders
IMHO, peters mind time traveled not his body, hence the reason he was invisible 2 everone else except charles because its his power
Enigma
charles power confuses the living daylights out of me... it befuddles me even more considering the only time we have seen him use "it" is when he's dead

I think its like a Timetravel projection, so it is like his mind is travelling without his body but also it is kind of emotional/personal based instead of physical location based in terms of where he goes or who he is seeing.
Atheshar
Good to see someone else picked up on that ^^ I wonder will we see more of this? Also, Peter brought back a flier with him, which I found kind of curious. None of the other dreaming powers have actually affected anything tangible.
Kris
I never thought of that.
But it makes a hell of a lot of sense.

It might be a type of astral projection, that he happened to use with other powers he has ( and most likely doing at a subconscious level) astral projection+time travel+invisibility. That's what i thought i saw with Devoe ( it occured to me that i might have been Devoe's doing then i realized it was very possible for Peter to do.) Which brings up another interesting point why Besides [possible astral projection] has peter demostrated any other powers that we don't know who he mimicked them from?

for instance he's been around or near at least 5 of the founders since he got his powers, and we only know of one of Bob's powers which he has yet to use. And i can't remember if he's been near Linderman since then either, i recall him being invisible in Nathan's office during one of Liderman's visits, but i'm not completely sure if Linderman was actually there or just his "people".

i agree. Charles' power is probably astral projection...With Astral projection, maybe they can project themselves in the past (whatever time they want)

yeah..it might be astral projection...but i think it is something MORE than ONLY astral projection....if peter can have full control of this ability..it would be great

hello everyone, I'm new to this site, just watched this episdoe last night though and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to the founder's powers? Also I have an opinion/theory I'd like to sound off and see what other people thought, no one I know actually watches this apart from me.......

Basically I was wondering how certain powers work together for example last night we saw Hiro freeze time at the end and everything stopped save for Peter, now I might be wrong but I dont remember Hiro being able to pick who was frozen/stopped and who was not so I assumed that the reason was because Peter shares his power.

Then I got to thinking about why he had never picked up his mother's power whatever it is or bob's power, then I was thinking about the powers he had that he hadn't used, molly's for example and the Hashin's power and that was where I got confused! If the Hashin's power stops others from working like it does in season 1 in "5 years gone" or whatever its called then when future Hiro enlists peter's help to save past Hiro , then surely it must stop peter's power now and if peter's power is to absorb then it will not work so he'd never have the power in the first place if that makes sense? This is assuming that the Hashin does this automatically and his power is always active, if its not then maybe peter would have it at some point, but he should still have bob's from the beignning of the first series in the hospital and his mum's?! But if Peter ever does get the Hashin's power then that's pretty much it isn't it? I mean who could possibly ever stop him?

oh and anyone else think that Hiro might have bitten off a little more than he can chew choosing to fight peter?

What I'm curious about - if Peter has the Hatian's power and uses it, can he use the rest of his abilities at the same time? That is, can Peter use more than one power at once? If not then he can't use the Hatian's ability to render his 'special' opponent harmless and then, say, telekinesis, to defeat them. If he could, it would make him very god-like =/
ossie000
I, personally, always had my own theory about Charles Deveaux's power. I thougth it was something like dream precognition. Think about it, Peter had all these dreams wich predicted the future kind off. He was around Charles all the time when he started having those dreams. I think that Peter's first abducted power was this dream precognition. At the end of season 1 he also used it, because he was lying on the ground, in a some sort of sleepy state. I don't know excactly what Charles' power is, but definetly something with dreams.
bignas1234
i had this idea aswell when watching the episode, but confused to whether it is Charles' ability or not?
definately astral projection
oddjob

I think Peter can't absorb the Hatian's power cos when they're around each other the Hatian stops Peter from absorbing any powers.
Atheshar
The Hatian appears to choose whose powers he stops (note in 5YG: Hiro could not teleport but Matt still had telepathy). So theoretically the Hatian could be around Peter without stopping Peter's powers, meaning that Peter will absorb his ability. [All that really belongs in another thread though.]

The one problem with Charles's power being dream/vision precognition (since Peter wasn't asleep in that last one) is that... Peter brought the virus evacuation flier back with him. You typically don't bring real stuff out of your dreams/visions.

Thats exactly what Hiro did when he met Peter for the first time on the tube train...

Also Adam told him that he was there the whole time, he didn't travel, his body.
