It looks like the funeral of one of his parents. Either Kaito's or his Mother's or someone elses but I'm wondering when..I don't like the thought of Adam down there for another 30 years trying to survive on what little oxygen is available...poor guy

i agree, i think it was a different time when he was buried.....it looked like it was kaito's funeral.
And when hiro was in the office he was wearing a suit and tie, which was obviously different than what he was wearing in the vault. And the way Ando talked to him--it was the first time he saw Hiro.
Must be in the past...

I just read the kring interview he tells us its kaitos and that adam can pretty much live forever so thats how theyre going to write that..clears that up.

I think it's quite symbolic.
Hiro burries Adam in the very spot where his father should lie.
I wonder what he did with the corpse of his father though, but who cares?

I think adam will have fun down there ;-)
Actually with putting him there they can always bring him back ... maybe a villian with mollies abilieties ?

it's a japanese thing for a son to (somehow like) 'kill' his father's killer and present's the killer near the father's grave...for when did hiro bury adam.....it could be anytime he wants....since he can manipulate and stop time....then after burying adam....he went home, take a bath, change his clothes (it would be dirty after burying adam) and go to his office

Adam won't be able to die, he'd just keep regenerating.
Regardless of the lack of oxygen, food, etc.
Currently I think that Sylar is going to steal Molly, get her to find Adam, and then Sylar will attempt to steal Adam's powers.
That way Kring has a storyline for all three of the characters.

Yeah, Sylar would just loooooove the idea of living forever.
My only problem with that theory is how are Sylar and Molly going to find out about Adam? I mean, Mohinder knows about him, but that's about it. Perhaps they'll get it out of him.
But, yeah. Normally people won't survive being buried alive because they die due to lack of oxygen, or lack of food and water. When you starve, your stomach starts eating at itself until it can no longer function, but with rapid cell regeneration, it'll just heal itself, and it won't be a problem.
I dunno about the oxygen though. We he runs out, I think he will die, because your brain won't function without oxygen, and then when someone digs him out, he'll come back to life.

I think Adam will keep dying over and over again. Like he dies from lack of Oxygen, comes back to life, then suffocates again straight away and that keeps on going until he gets some oxygen.
That is a fate worse then death.

I wish we'd seen what happenned between Hiro and Adam...
All you have is Hiro sitting at his desk...
Cut to Adam in the coffin...
And you are left to work out what really happenned...
Not good.
Hiro could have just brought Adam back past billions of years to the dinosaur age just before a large meteor hit the earth.

My question though is how did get a coffin? Maybe he borrowed somewhere or maybe he went to all the trouble of buying a coffin while Adam was frozen in time.

this scene was really harsh !! as much as an evil guy adam is.....
burrying him alive for ....ever ?? is jsut way too much.... maybe hiro will let him out eventually ?? or he might leave him in there as hiro did say that "he cant hurt anyone anymore" or something like that...

Theres a buzzy idea. So its not where Hiro burried him but where. I'm guessing the graveyard hasnt changed much in the last few decades, kinda choice to think that he was burried there maybe 50 years ago. Couple weeks from now Hiro's going for a bit of a stroll and theres ole Adam (+50 years but not looking a day over 30) fresh from digging himself out for the last 5 decades, craving a beer.
And then, considering the whole not-having-any-natural-(or-unnatural-for-that-matter)-lighting, how would he even know he was in a grave, it would no doubt be one of his theories, but I mean, the risk, he could be anywhere, sure its nicely padded and all, but what if digging upward wasnt the way out, what if the exit was to the left or the right or at your feet. Wheighing it up in his mind, say you spend 25 years digging upwards and it turns out (hypothetically)you've really been, yknow, burried in a huge pile of dirt for like 8km, and then it turns into sand (guttered as, it'll totaly flood you out, and get all in your eyes and ears and stuff) So you keep diggin for another 25m above that, and smash into a 4km thick concrete tub filled completely with hot magma, which will deffinatly wash you back to the bottom once you finaly best the concrete.
So y'know, all that effort digging upwards when really, Hiro, the cheeky sh*t, buirried you against some thin rice paper on your left, but you'd never know. So finaly, decades after being burried you escape. Only to find, you're trapped on a tiny island.
So thats all very worst case scenario, but y'know, it'd have to cross your mind, I mean, you'd have little else to do being trapped in a coffin for eternity.

Ok, here's the thing. This series is based on a scientific version of how these powers occur. As such, there is also meant to be some sort of scientific explanation for each person's power. For the two character's with extremely fast celullar regeneration, they still go through the process of regeneration. They aren't just magically healing from nowhere, they're going through the normal regenerative process at an extremely enhanced rate.
When a normal human being regenerates from, say, a cut, we use energy to do so. Food, oxygen, water, we need these things to heal ourselves when we're injured. Why would this be any different for Adam or Claire? My personal opinion is that the more they have to regenerate and heal, the greater the energy strain on their body.
So being locked away with limited oxygen, no food and no water, Adam surely wouldn't be able to continue regenerating. He only has so much energy he can use in his body. Eventually he won't be able to continue regenerating and die.

Didn't you recognize the grave site?
It was Kaito's funeral!
If you pay attention closely, you notice that Hiro is talking to Ando in the
exact same suit as the funeral.
As to everyone, I think Adam's ability is less scientific then we think.
@Kris: Everyone seems to know about Adam and Matt/Mohinder (GAY LOVE!

) will definitely some how tell Molly. Maybe they'll be looking for Adam as well?

Meghan, I love you.
and I like that idea about four or five posts up about how if they are nourished, then the people with regenerative powers will slowly lose them. It makes sense.

And how, may I ask, will Sylar get to know that there's an ADAM? He doesn't know who he is. They havent met. And Mohinder haven't met Adam too. All Mo knows is that it is Claire's blood which could heal. Matt and Nathan knows adam. But since Adam is gone, Matt might be the one looking for him because he would think that Adam killed Nathan (since he doesnt know what Hiro did to him). So he'll ask Molly to find Adam.

Hiro wasn't wearing the suit he wore at the funeral. he was wearing his office attire, short sleeves white polo and tie. It seems to me that it signifies that he has gone back to Japan and resume his usual work at Yamagato industries. His sister was on the computer screen probably making an announcement, his sister is president already.

Sylar will find out some way or another, I'm not going to theorize about how.
All I know is that everyone is finding out about him and I can't imagine Sylar not finding out.
Do you seriously think that Kring would keep Sylar out of the loop?
I can't find a screen shot to prove my point but regardless that grave site is Kaito's site.
