Ive been reading some of the posts concerning characters with healing factor.

But then I just remembered a scene from one of the X-Men movies (X2-united).

Wolverine there also has a healing factor then one of the cops shot him in the head.

After 2mins or so he stood up and the bullet got out of his head.

Now this means Adam Clair or Peter can survive a gunshot to the head.

"I'm actually not sure if it works the same way in Heroes. Wolverine's skeletal structure was altered to metal. So I thought that when he was shot the bullet wasn't able to go through his metal skull, but knocked him out for a few moments until his regenerative capabilities forced the bullet out.

When it comes to the characters in Heroes, I would imagine that if someone like Adam or Peter were shot in the head they would definitely be dead, but could possibly come back to life if someone were to remove the bullet, like when Claire removed the piece of glass stuck in Peter's head in season one. But if their heads were blown off with something like a shotgun, I seriously doubt they'd ever get up again.

I think one bullet in the head if removed could be survived by the people with regenerative powers, even Noah Bennet was basically shot in the head, in the eye, which would probably have hit at least some of the brain, and he came back from it with just Claire's blood.

Now a shotgun to the head that could literally blow it off, then maybe they wouldn't come back from that, but i find coming back from a nuke more far fetched than a bullet to the head. If a there is no coming back from a shot gun to the head (as Adam put it) then i imagine if someone attached say a pack of C4 to them and blew them to bits, i can't see how a going nuclear wouldn't do the same thing. I don't know, apparently it just radiated out from him and didn't actually blow him up as it were.

Whether a bullet, a bit of glass (going fast as a bullet maybe?) or a sharp bit of a branch logded in their skull and presumably in their brain, if removed it appears they can regenerate and come back from death.

Then again, Claire's toe grew back, would a full arm grow back, if she were cut in half, would her legs grow back or would her upper body grow back, could her head grow back? Who's to say they need their brain for the regeneration to work?

@ Solinari's comment on the going nuclear. Please, I don't know how come so many of you get the misconception that going nuclear requires healing to recover from. Ok I guess you all were misled by Nathan and Angela Petrelli who themselves, Heroes characters, believed Peter needed healing. But really, he doesn't. Look at Theodore Sprague, the original nuclear man, he blew up in Claire's house but he went out unscathed. The explosion is basically a HUGE amount of radiation energy released by the radioactive man... destroying everything. It doesn't hurt the radiator(lol) himself.

This is true, but Ted didn't explode like a nuclear bomb, and if he had, i doubt he would have walked away from it.
