There are two unusual things we've constantly seen, but haven't really had explained.

The Eclipse, which is seen throughout the show and the graphic novels. According to the trivia section, Kring admits there is a point to it. What do you all think it is and will it be shown in Volume 3?

The Symbol, which is seen in pretty much every episode of the show. We finally learn that it is connected to Adam, but it didn't really explain much beyond that. Why does it appear on Jessica's back? Why is it the logo of Arthur Petrelli's law firm? Why did the dust in Peter's hand of the Shanti Virus turn into the symbol? Why did Molly's eyes momentarily have the symbol? Why does the Haitian wear it around his neck? Pretty much every character has seen that d*** thing. What does it mean (in your opinions) and will it be addressed in Volume 3?

Kaenkun
Tim Kring said there will be an explanation of the symbol in the first episode or Heroes: origins, as he said on the G4 post Show
macdaddysquid
yeah I remember that...

An eclipse happened early on in the show, so if nothing else that could explain it
Ando
i dont think this should be a poll because just now there is only one answer...maybe!

Don't forget that the tattoo that Peter got earlier this season also turned into the symbol as well.

I think that nest season will bring it closer to the truth about these symbols
My_Name_Is_Sylar!
Ahem...In my opening post, I asked your opinions on it and if you *think* it'll be shown/explained. tongue.gif

Anyways, thanks for the responses.

I do like the idea that it'll be shown in the "final" (whenever that is) season. It seems fitting as it started with this and it should end with it.

If you remember, Kensei's symbol means "Godsend" and "Great power". He used it, as the name Kensei (which means "Sword's master") to scare his opponents. But through ages it got a stronger meaning. After he found out about his abilities, when all found out about their abilities, it still means the same! The great godsend power!

And the eclipse... I think it means that a nw hero will be revealed, remember when there was an eclipse when Hiro got in the past? The hero was Adam/Kensei. In the beginning of the series, it meant all of them.

That's what I think, let's see if I'll stand corrected in the volumes that follow.

I like the theory that the eclipse means that a new hero will be revealed. It seems to be a common thread. We will all know in due course.

Kaito said that we have the power of gods but cannot play god. It must have something to do with the meaning Godsend power.

Nice speculations

Thanks smile.gif

Yes, Kaito did say that... Maybe he meant Adam. Bob said that Adam thought himself as god after he found out about his abilities and this whole not-aging thing. He thought he was god with the Godsend power, or ability, as transalated by Ando when Matt asked him (in Kaito's murder scene, Matt was investigating and he was shown the picture of Kaito with Adam's symbol. He asked Ando what it means and he said <<It means "Godsend" and "Great Ability">> . Matt was curious when he heard it).
Maybe he meant that they shouldn't follow Adam's path and think themselves as gods, with the power to decide about general matters (for exaple, the bomb in NYC) cause they got these abilities (which, by the way, I really want to see).

Holly cow!! Check this out, people, about the symbol... it shows in so many places! It either mean what I said or something even bigger!!

I think they may use something small like the "Godsend" deal to tie it in, but I don't think it is going to be some major thing. A helix is half of a DNA strand, and the whole concept of the show is about evolution and genetics.

The first thing we ever see in Heroes is Suresh giving a lecture where he suggests that the cockroach is the most highly adapted species in existance. Which would make it the best work evolution has created. Then throughout the series we see cockroaches quite often.

I think its all just a play on the original concept. Perhaps they'll try to tie it into story somehow to satisfy fans. But I don't see it being absolute, or even necessary.

Good points...
madztab
i think the symbol who has it are the main heroes of this whole story
only few of them has it,not all who has powers in the series has that symbol so i guess
those who have that symbol are the most important character

and i think for the eclipse i think stefi is right new heroes will be
revealed or there will be another person who will discover that he/she is different
from others like.. special as they all say in the series.
anywaize claire bennet doesn't have that symbol yet
hope she gets it too specially if the symbol meant for the main heroes
although i'm not her fan i think she makes the series more like
fresh coz she's the only one who's a teenager...
it's just my opinion

They saved him?

QUOTE(Carp @ Mar 20 2008, 12:31 AM) *
Well, people say that Gabriel used his power to figure out the cockroaches what have been around and that and he now has the cockroach ability of staying alive for ages! Gabriel's power is brilliant!

could be why:

He survived the fall the killed Peter in Homecoming.
He didn't die when hiro stabbed him.
He could stay alive longer than anyone else when maya's power is in effect. (although Mo and Molly did too)

He can probably live without breathing or something of the sort. huh.gif
Ando
QUOTE(Carp @ Mar 20 2008, 05:03 PM) *
Soon he won't need to kill Claire!

Molly and Mo were both on the floor though and Gabriel was still pretty upright.

Ye, he was still bargaining with Mohinder. In the car at the border aswell.
rey tj
Mohinder should have given something 2 sylar that would have killed him not cured him Mohiner is a cowerd
Leshia
rolleyes.gif Mohinder was never planning to give him the cure. He was stalling for time until somebody from the Company got there. He's far from being a coward.

well i have 2 disagree sylar didn't know what he wa injectiong himself with he should have just given him the mst powerful poison he had and 4 someone thats supposed 2 be smart as well. Plus when they were in his loft he knocked out Sylar after peter died he should have killed him then because of mohinders mistakes many people have and will die.
Leshia
Yeah, because Mohinder just carries large doses of poison around with him. rolleyes.gif

And he was bluffing about an overdose killing him. There's no such thing as an overdose of BLOOD.

It would be stupid to risk trying to beat him single handedly, especially when there are two innocent lives at risk at the same time.
Leshia
Taking on an armed guy when you have nothing is just dumb. How could he have 'got the gun'? He's not Bennet, he's not trained for situations like that, he's just a scientist. Sylar would have shot him before he could pull off anything. He did the smart thing by waiting for Company backup instead of just getting everyone killed.
Leshia
QUOTE(Carp @ Apr 6 2008, 04:50 PM) *
There were moments when Gabriel put the gun down. Mohinder could have grabbed the gun then. Also, when they first entered the lab, Gabriel said "remember" and held the gun up with one finger. Mohinder could have got it then too among other moments. I think it was smart to wait for the Company but he didn't stall enough. By the time Elle came, Gabriel already had the blood. As I said before, if Mohinder had failed to grab the gun and Gabriel killed let's say all of the people in the room, he might not have found the blood and wouldn't Sylar other people. Now he has his powers, he's going to hurt a lot more people that just 4 at most.

I think if your daughter's life was at stake, you'd go with the pretty safe assumption that 'guy with gun > gun without gun' in a fight. It was a dumb risk to take on some random grab. And seeing as he stalled long enough for someone to get there, he didn't really need to stall much longer. If Elle hadn't announced herself to Sylar, she probably could have fried him.

Seriously, get on his case for not watching the blood closer, but don't rag on him for not taking idiotic risks that would have probably gotten them all killed.
rey tj
The person that shot peter i don't think that it was sylar because he wouldn't waste a power, mohinder is a cowerd and he wouldn't do that anyway. he needed to stop at Isacc attic to revive maya. I count the future people out because when angelina was on the phone it must have been 2 the company (i could be wrong) It could have been bennet but i think not i think it would be 2 obvious 2 be him. As u see the person walking off nobody seems 2 notice so i think that they have the same or quite simular 2 Candices power. I think it might even be Claude because when the persons working off we're in peters view point and peter can see claude so u never know.
Leshia
QUOTE(Carp @ Apr 7 2008, 03:52 PM) *
Second, Mohinder did not stall long enough because when Elle arrived, Gabriel already had the blood in his possession.

Yeah, because he wasn't watching it close enough. If he had made sure he was hanging on to it, or at least noticed when Sylar grabbed it, he would have been able to stall longer.

When you're unarmed, there are very few 'opportune' moments to disarm a guy, unless you're trained, which Mohinder is not.
rey tj
QUOTE(Carp @ Apr 7 2008, 06:08 PM) *
Still, Mohinder shouldn't have let it get to the point where he actually got the blood out.

To me, finding an opportune moment is easy but I am awesome, so I'll cut Mohinder some slack. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I still think that Mohinders a cowerd becuse he could have given him anythin and Sylar would have believed him and plus in the first place i wouldn't have given him the antidote cause it's his life or many other peoples lives.

Uh, he wasn't going to give him the antidote. How does calmly biding your time by duping the crazed serial killer make him a coward? That's pretty much the opposite of cowardice.

2 your question the answer is a yes but i agree he was doing the right thing by staling but it wouldn't matter if he had of died the company would have tried 2 get some of claires blood and then healed him if he met anythin 2 them.

If he had died, so would Molly and Maya and then Sylar could have grabbed the blood anyway. It wasn't just his own skin he was looking out for.
