well the butterfly effect is sumin to do with the wind. basicaly the short story is scientists believe that if butterflies do sumin different with their wings then they could cause a tornado.

one of us, one of them looks pretty good, but these don't really sound like heroes chapter titles but ok...
Anyone knows the movie Butterfly Effect in which the main actor finds out that he can go back to the past and change its course? 
There could be a relation to that cause depending on the scenes we saw in the spoiler video that were shown back then at the wizards event, almost everyone of our heroes was dead or got killed at that time so this looks more like a future timeline again in which this time peter tries to change by going back and warn the others since hiro was already dead in the preview back then (stabbed with his own sword hanging on a wall).
Let's hope it will be cool though!

Wow, I like the titles. I'm even more excited for the season now!
The titles sound much more dramatic this season, compared to previous seasons. All points to a good season 3.
3x01: "The butterfly effect"....or the beginning!
I think this refers to the beginning of something big....more than likely a main character (or not) does something that has a reaction to those actions. I first thought this could be sylar getting his powers back. But, I then thought it would take some time for the effects of the poison to ware off? So I do not believe they will put Sylar in full control of his powers straight away because he is soo powerfull. Makes a better story too...Maybe it's Hiro? After all he was going back in time to stop certin things in time from happening....( Save the Cheerleader, save the world?) So maybe the first episode will start with Hiro altering Nathan's assassination? Maybe Nathan has an important role to play in defeating the Villians.
I could go on and on with this......

I believe this might involve Matt....After all his father power is simular and Matt's powers are growing fast. A pivital character. Alternatively it could be something/someone else.
3x03: "One of Us, One of Them"
I've thought about this title, I think it refers to the obvious....A Hero and a Villian. But how its said is what intrest me most. Like its someone speaking as or too a group. Maybe an exchange for someone for the return of another?
3x04: "The Year of Our Lord"
There was word that someone with Godly powers. Or powers from the bible? Im not sure but I know it was something to do with that. However could this refer to this person? Could this person be the no.1 villian? Kane?
Whatever the meaning of these are Volume 3 is going to be back to the show strenght from volume 1. I cannot wait for this to kick off!!!

- Either this is reference to disastrous chain of events right after Nathan's shooting, or time traveling to the past is involved, like folks above have already mentioned. I'm not sure if the Powers That Be would put time traveling right on the season opener, though.

- Mystic visions a la aboriginals extraordinaire. Would be a good episode to toss some canon evidence about Angela's/Charles' power.

Also, matt was dead and it looked like claire was being beaten up against a wall by sylar. so, i think the first episode will be a future type episode showing how villains will kill everyone, and the season will focus on how they must try to stop this from happening. its going to be cool!!

Like when Peter first met Hiro on the tube in season 1. Thing is for sure it will be a future episode and this brings up a big question.
I dont think next season is going to have a 4 months ago type episode. This is mainly down to the fact that what has happened between Powerless and Butterfly Effect doesnt need to be recounted and told how each character got their. Its an alternate dark reality we are going to be starting the season on, and usually we only need to find out how a character got their when the outcome is good.
This adds to your arguement even more Carp, that we will start off with no telling of how we got their, and probably near the end, one of our time travelling buddies will pop up.
