Got Heroes > Heroes: Spoilers & Speculation > The Unidentified Chapters: Volume 3 - "Villains" +

Hey Heroes fans!!!!

I just got back from the Big Apple Comic Con in New York and I was very excited to meet Malcolm McDowell there who was signing autographs and taking pictures. I didn't know whether I wanted an A Clockwork Orange photo signed or a Heroes photo signed since they were expensive ($25/ $30 for a photo!).

The man selling them I guess goes with malcolm everywhere to sell teh autographs and he said there was a Heroes Mr. Linderman photo that was selling well since he would BE RETURNING NEXT SEASON!!! I flipped out!!!

Well I was second in line and I made my way up to Malcolm and he was incredibly nice!! He signed my photo and asked me if I wanted it personalized, i said of course and he wrote "To Andrew, Malcolm McDowell." We engaged in conversation, I said how I was a big fan and that I heard he was gonna be iin the new season of Heroes. He said "yes we are filming that now for 5 episodes."

Well, it came from the man himself, whether its gonna be a flashback or a quick return idk, but he is coming back.

For the non-believers I'll upload the autograph and the photo and myself and him later.

This season is called Villains, so his return could be great...it WILL be great!!

That's really cool. I liked his character and him being a villain will be very interesting. Seems like many of the Season 1 characters are returning. I wonder how Niki and Nathan will react if they see him (if Linderman returns in the present).

If he returns in flashbacks I think it will be something to do with the group of 12.

Yeh i was thinking the same thing, cause it seems Angela will have a huge role and will be a huge villain and there will probably like u said be some of the group of 12 flashbacks and see how much more Linderman was involved and involved with Adam.

But it would be cool if somehow he survived when D.L. put his hand through his head and will return as a "present" villain, maybe he healed himself?
Unknow-hero
Well Linderman can give life to things so its possible that he can heal himself. So theres no reason to write him out or other characters aswell.

Ah man this is awesome news. Although I would enjoy some flashbacks to give us insight into the characters past, I kind of doubt all 5 episodes would focus on flashbacks, so I’m more inclined to believe it’ll be in the present… even despite that thing in the graphic novels (from War Buddies) when he said he could not heal the dead, but there are still several possibilities, such as Linderman also being able to heal himself instead of just others, or a member of the company injected him with Adam’s blood (could have been the only sample they had at the time, leading to the issues in season 2 with needing Claire’s instead of having some of Adam’s stored) or some unseen character turns up with the power of resurrection. Personally I’d like to see the latter tongue.gif Arthur, anyone? Mindless speculation, how I do love it lol

He may be able to heal things, but he can't bring things back from the dead. (Which he is)

Also, you try doing anything with a whopping fist-sized hole in your skull.

(although, i posted about Arthur Petrelli having powers to resurect the dead as a theory. Hopefully that could be it tongue.gif)

There probably will be some flashbacks with him, but I also hope that he returns in the present. I kinda liked him although he was evil. You just didn't get to see much of him in the first episode.
But didn't anyone from the company(Bob?) say that Linderman was dead? Maybe it's the same as with Sylar. It's speculated that the order to safe him was given by someone inside the company, but not the company itself, a secret action. Maybe it's the same thing here.
Besides, wasn't Linderman somehow a leader of the company? they wouldn't just let him die, would they? And like it was said in a former post, they had Adam at that time...

Ugh. I hope it is in flashbacks, He is a good actor and all, but they killed him, so he should stay dead. This show will get to a point where no one will give a flying f*** if someone dies, because we all know they can come back and it will lose it's meaning. They need to stop killing people to "shock" us. Instead they need to kill them if it pertains to the storyline.

sooner or later it will became an meme and viewers just won't care anymore.

Hey guys! Here are the pics for u guys. Its me talking to him as he signs my Heroes picture, (please mind the weird looking armband on my arm, its hiding my IV, my arm got infected a few weeks ago and I still have my IV on my arm), then its me and him, notice my face is red because it was like 90+ degrees in New York!

I tried to scan the picture I got signed but it was too big to fit in the scanner, but u can see it as he signs it.

I agree with you.
I had the same concern last season with the overuse of Claire and Adam's ''Healing Blood''.
I say that dead characters should remain dead.

I was actually kind of suprised we did not see him last season either in a flashback to tie loose ends from season 1, or as part of the 12. Probably a result of the strike.

I thought the notion of the 12 could have been very interesting, but was poorly executed. We never really got a feel for who they were, xave for a select few.

Glad he's coming back, in some form. Linderman was such a politely menacing fellow. McDowell plays him well.

Now, I usually strongly object to characters being brought back from dead. If nobody ever truly dies, just spends some quality time in suspended animation instead, where's the thrill?

That being said, I always found Daniel Linderman a fascinating character to start with. The Powers That Be took their sweet time to introduce the Mastermind pulling the strings, dropping all these breadcrumbs and vague hints, so that when you finally got to meet the character in flesh, it was one of the climatic moments of the first season. At least, it was for me. happy.gif That's why I don't mind the usage of the Resurrect-O-Matic this time, although I think that TPTB must stop using it as a plot device in general.

McDowell talked about filming 5 episodes, hmm? I take that as a hint that Linderman is indeed alive, and not just in flashbacks / alternate timeline. As for the plot device that makes that possible... well, as others before me have already suggested, there's the convenient regenerative blood... there's Candice (she was supposedly a couple of floors above while Linderman was shot, but I wouldn't put Linderman's "death" past an illusion. TPTB are sneaky like that)... there's the fact that Linderman possesses the ability of healing (whether he can heal himself or just other living beings, remains currently unknown, but it doesn't certainly sound impossible. Of course, it might be quite hard to heal when there's a fist-shaped ventilation shaft in your brain... rolleyes.gif ) Someone also mentioned an evolved character with the power of resurrection. Hmm, why not? My money's on the magic blood, however.

I dunno. I can't get over the delight when I heard you know who would be returning alive to "24" next season and you also know who would be returning alive to "Prison Break" next season. Maybe it's because those two particular deaths felt poorly done. It's not like either of those those didn't kill off plenty of characters for real (all the kings horses and all the kings men still can't put Veronica Donovan together again and it's good money we've seen the last of David Palmer and Michelle Dessler).

Same goes for "Heroes". (Isaac, Simone, Eden, Ted, Kaito) But HRG getting shot in "Cautionary Tales"? Come on, you knew that wasn't gonna last.

Linderman? How that will work remains to be seen. Could be a flashback. Could be a Charles Deveaux-style dream. And yes, could be healing himself. It's not like that's a HUGE deus ex machina. Let's just see what happens.

it is kind of the same issue in X-Men with jean grey, you know?

i mean everyone wanted her to come back in some sort of way after she died but it would of just ruined the character and ruin the whole reason for the death.

of course everyone doesnt want their favorite character to leave, but you have to do them justice by letting them die the way they should.
happy.gif
i mean I almost cried when HRG died, just because it was so built up from the painting, but then all of the emotion just simmered when he was revived.
I agree is a vital asset to the series, but I dont being toyed with.

i guess the only real person that I want off the show for good would be parkman
THAT GUY CANT EVEN ACT!
ughh, i hate him.
Ando
I could see him coming back to be good. A spoiler said that Nathan, Claire and Peter are going to try and take Angela back from the evil she is in, and Maybe Linderman comes back to try and help her? It's a possibility. I just find it hard to Imagine Malcolm McDowell as a villain, He looks like a friendly old man lol! biggrin.gif

Are you kidding me? Many of his most notable characters have been nasty characters. His most notable role was a violent sociopathic rapist in "A Clockwork Orange" (a wierd but entertaining movie that I recommend, BTW).

The first thing I ever saw him in was Dr. Soran, the badguy in "Star Trek: Generations". In the original cut of the movie he was going to KILL Captain Kirk by shooting him in the back! (That didn't go over well with test audiences, so Kirk fell off a bridge instead. rolleyes.gif )
