just got the dvd, i thought i would post this as i know this dvd isnt released on region 1 until august 21st or somthing

apparently the alternate ending was that the virus was released and would be the main story arc for the following 8 episodes, nathan would have still died during a press conference but instead of being shot he died from the virus, maya at the end of this story arc would have been the one that saves the day by using her ability to eliminate the virus, a documentary on the dvd also showed sylar stepping up behind angeli (like in the trailer for season 3) and showing her his little team which was niki/jessica, maury, adam and a new character.

the best thing however was a deleted scene from four months later which revelaed kaito's power, in the scene where him and ando sit at kirby plaza, right where kaito's picture slipped out from his newspaper,

he thn smiles and looks into his paper where he can see the result of some trading figures or something in his paper, his picture then falls out.

this is really interesting as it explains how good he is at fighting as he can predict what an opponents next attack will be.

im actually glad of the strike as the new villians story seems to be much more interesting than a further 8 episodes of chasing the virus to stop it, maya's could have been well used in this story though but never mind. . . . .

Thank you for the information. I must sadly wait until December for my copy of the season 2 DVD box, but at least now I know it's worth the delay.

Kaito's ability sounds cool. I guess it cannot be considered canon until it is confirmed in the aired episodes, but I don't see why they would want to change it. The dialogue is bit cheesy - maybe that's why they left the scene out of the finished episode.

no i only got it yesterday, ive just watched the special features and im gonna watch some commentary episodes now, except the alternative and deleted scenes, the special features arnt that great, theres some making of scenes and a new beginning doc but thats about it, the only other bits are some kensei documentary which doesnt seem to link in with the series and something called the drucker files - bit confused on what that is actually though

unfortunetly no, there are some clips of them, the alternative ending is about 20 minutes though

I wonder if this is the same extra like the us version ...

can u download the alternative ending anywhere? is there anything cool on the season 1 dvd?
