I think there are only two heros who posess the ability to defeat Sylar.

Hiro, who can stop time and then chop Sylar to bits

But more importantly, Peter Petrelli

He has a power portfolio greater than Sylars, because he's sucked up all of Sylars powers (when they met) as well as the other Heros powers he's come in contact with....

No matter what Sylar tries, Peter can match or parry.

Not only that, but peter can stop time (he met the future Hiro, which means he sucked up Hiros powers too).

So who do you guys think would win between Peter and Sylar...

Well, that is a tough one... I have to say I think Peter will not ever battle Sylar...

Sylar is BROKEN and it is only a matter of time before he realizes it! Sylar's body won't be able to support all that power! HE WON'T BE ABLE TO CONTROL IT FOR A LONG TIME!!!

So, Peter and Sylar will never fight.

If they DID FIGHT!? Well, I would say Peter, because he can stop time, and use all of Sylar's powers against him!

well it depends if sylar got the drop on peter he might be able to kill him before he can use his powers.
if he ripped his head off before peter could do anything well i would say that not even claires power could fox that. but it could go either way cause of circumstances.

How do you know that Sylar's body is "broken?" If he was "broken" then wouldn't he be able to know since that is his power after all

I have to disagree that Peter got all of Sylar's powers when he met.

Peter's DNA or tissue mimics that of the people he met when he thinks of them, or brings up an emotion he associates with him (such as why the Invisible man called him an empath).

Since Sylar only used the telekinesis power around Peter, and Peter only used the telekinesis against the invisible man, and not all of Sylar's powers at once, I would have to assume that Peter only mimicked and absorbed the telekinesis power.

Still it seems little less likely now that Sylar's new hearing power seems always on, but I think it stands to reason that Peter would've had to exhibit multiple powers when he whipped out the telekinesis.

It seems that perhaps TK is Sylars stronger power (The only one they could detect on him when they were doing the tests on him, as HRG said anyway) so maybe Peter only absorbed that one. He could have absorbed the other powers of Sylars and doesn't know it yet. We still don't know all of Sylars powers. I don't think any of them would win at this stage in a show down. Sylar could easily be Peters ultimate nemesis. Peter could be the big Hero on the show, but what if, Peter turns bad?

Yeah it might be! Peter is all so mysterious right now!

I think Peter is more powerful than Sylar, but Sylar understands his powers more. He understands the extent and how to use them . But just give Peter some time, and he'll be WOW! Plus, Sylar has a limited number of powers, Peter can just take the powers of others.....unless he takes too much and explodes.... Oh, well, Sylar will still be killed by Peter that way.

Sylar would basically become indestructible and then what kind of a show would Heroes become? The Sylar kill everyone fest basically..there's a reason why Peter won't die

Worst thing they can do is have the main badie indestructible, they need a weakness, but same goes for the good guy too.

I like watching comic-inspired things, but I don't really like reading comics..... mainly coz I don't have any.

Although I think Peter will beat the crap out of Sylar, I think Peter will use his "fuel" in the wrong/bad kind of way... I think he will become like Anakin Skywalker... Good to Bad...

I dunno I read somewhere that Sylar possibly had shape shifting abilities, and now I can't remember where I read it. But at least half of the powers he has taken haven't been confirmed yet.

Hmm if Sylar has anything resembling shape shifting abilities then I would guess that he would kill Candice and just take her illusion ability

If sylar had shape shifting abilities he would have hid himself when he met Mohinder or when he went after Claire or when anybody was looking for him wouldn't he have?

I've always wanted to get a bunch of comic books and read them, I wish my dad would have kept all of his from when he was a kid. But one time when I went into a comic book store all the guys in there kind of stared at me like they couldn't believe I was a girl....it was kind of scary...

And from the looks of the preview from episode 19, [spoiler]Peter is still pinned up against the wall, but Sylar is flying through the air, and then later when Sylar says "This is usually the part where people start screaming," he looks like he's pinned against the wall. It just sounds like the kind of weird and twisted thing Sylar would say when he's about to die/be seriously injured.[/spoiler] The fight is going to be so awesome!!

There has to be a fight! It might have begun already unless Peter escapes before anything can happen. Either way, I hope there's one soon.

That's the thing I think that Peter may just escape, if he can avoid a fight, I bet he would, especially since Mohinder's life seems to be at stake

I do think that if Peter can get his powers undercontrol really fast he will have no problem fighting Sylar. He can absorb all of Sylars powers and he has the other powers Sylar doesnt have too.

Since Peter has to actively think about the person and their power to use them, Peter would only be able to use the powers that he sees Sylar use

I think they will eventually get into a 'fight' but maybe not in episode 19.

Yeah I think that the fight that they do have in 19 will be on the same scale as the one that they had in episode 9

I agree with you all I think to sum the cliffhanger up Peter will regenerate, then he will go invisible grab Mohinder and run like hell from Sylar.

Its funny Zachary commented somewhere he'd like to have the invisibility power, and I am sure Sylar would love that one!

Well I don't think that Peter will be giving it up anytime soon and Claude seems like he's good at running, too bad for Sylar

I agree that the infamous Sylar and Peter showdown will be about 10 seconds long! Involving Peter turning invisible and grabbing Mohinder to FLY away!
